Top Shipston on Stour Hotel Reviews
Bicester Hotel Golf and Spa
"Let's start with the good: the room was gorgeous, great tea/coffee facilities, comfortable bed and a lovely well stocked bathroom. The bar, spa and waiting staff were extremely friendly and always willing to help. The cocktails and food were excellent and as it was my friend's birthday, there was a very lovely cake waiting in our room. The not so good: The reception staff on arrival(except for the lady with red hair) were miserable and not very friendly. Also it was difficult to understand them, as their second language was English. My friend and I borrowed the luggage cart and were struggling to get it in the door (I'm disabled and could only open doors), yet there was a male member of staff just standing watching us! There is no mini bar fridge in the room, which was annoying as we would have liked to keep milk, water and beauty products in there. The spa showers were very cold, the pool was a colder than usual as the boiler was broken plus the jacuzzis weren't working very well. On speaking with members of the club, this is a frequent occurrence, which is not good for a luxury spa and golf hotel. My friend and I still had a lovely time but would have been much better with those changes."
The White Swan Hotel
"Great breakfast that's included! Central location and a very helpful staff."
The Swans Nest Hotel
"Nice hotel, great location for the RSC, reasonable parking costs. Stayed in the Ophelia suite, the furniture was a bit tired but very clean. Good price. Would stay again"
Staverton Park Hotel & Golf Club
"The room was clean, if a little dated. The staff were very helpful, the breakfast was lovely, and dinner at the bar was also great. The beer was reasonably priced for a hotel too!"
Chesford Grange Hotel
"Food good but quite expensive- toaster provided for gluten free toast but need a sign saying for gluten free only Staff helpful - pool lovely"
Whately Hall
"Great large sized suite with separate sitting room with 2nd tv. Staff very friendly. Lovely restaurant and bar. I had room 52 with old escape cupboard. Quite historical to have."
Holiday Inn Oxford by IHG
"Can I just say the breakfast staff were amazing , very attentive and lovely and kind to everyone , worked so hard and was very chatty to everyone x"
Holiday Inn Express Bicester by IHG
"good helpful staff easy to park"
Crowne Plaza Stratford Upon Avon by IHG
"Check in was a wait but it was busy and the receptionist was nice. £13 a night for parking which I was not aware of. I booked a premium king room with lounge access. The room was an interjoining room and we had very noisy next door neighbours banging and shouting. Walls were very thin - didn’t feel very private. It wasn’t a king bed - it was beds pushed together. The pillowcase had a hole in it but the bed(s)/ bedding were comfy. The room wasn’t big - as it was my first stay I wondered whether it was actually a premium room - as the premiums were meant to be larger. The bathroom was ok. The toilet you had to flush a few times, the tap for the sink is fixed in a place that caused it to spill water and there was a stained bath mat in the bath. The mini fridge was gd with water. We also had biscuits tea coffee. I thought we were going to have a view but 3/4 of the curtains covered a wall and only 1/4 had a window which showed a bit of the river. I would’ve used the gym - didn’t know where it was - weren’t told and there was no information in the room. I also had to google breakfast times. We had lounge access. It was packed in the evening but a gd area. There were a gd selection of drinks & canapés - but they weren’t covered and there were several bluebottles on the food. I would recommend getting lids or covers. Breakfast was nice. A huge spread and everything we had was tasty. Staff were fab. It was ok! Pricey for what it was in my opinion."
