Was hoping this small hotel would be OK for an overnight stay, but I cannot recommend. Staff was nice enough. First, the hillside location is nearly impossible for anyone with mobility issues, and lack of handrails on steps makes things even more difficult. Room was OK only. No instructions for the wall AC that was blowing directly on the bed, and when we called, a nice young man appeared and helped us work the Carrier wall unit better. Instructions should have been provided in room. NO HOT WATER, therefore we did not shower after a long exhausted travel day. When asked about this they said," Oh, you should have asked us to turn on the heat for the water. It doesn't work when the solar is clouded over." Huh? How were we supposed to know this? Last issue was the pool. We booked this hotel so our six year old granddaughter could swim and get her energy out. Sunday morning pool was being cleaned, and she could not use it. Pool was still cloudy and smelled strongly of chlorine with odd looking things floating in it, so we didn't chance it. VERY old pool with no obvious filtration system. Difficult ladder entry only. No steps. They wanted half the daily rate for a couple of hours late check out, so we were on the streets until we could board our cruise ship. Fortunately, our family was in another small hotel and the wonderful manager there took us in with them, and let us use their room for no charge and let my granddaughter swim in their pool. We thank her.
