"All the cool kids are doing it..."
Booked this hotel for a recent weekend getaway/birthday celebration with my man. True to its targeted clientele, this hotel feels a bit like a millenial's quarter-life identity crisis. It's decor is minimal grunge-chic, and is as confusing as it sounds. Think 4-star hotel-meets-highrise-hostel in the middle of downtown LA. The room was tiny, but clean, and had all of the amenities of an upscale hotel. The location was awesome for our downtown LA rendezvous. About a 15 minute ride to the Arts District, Melrose, Hollywood/Highland, etc. We were on the 9th floor with a stunning, unobstructed panoramic view of the Hollywood Hills (The Hollywood Sign and Griffith Observatory). Though the room felt like an oven and the AC didn't seem to work- I can't imagine how hot the rooms on the other side must've felt with the morning sun beating in. The on-site restaurant, Commissary, is delicious and located inside a massive greenhouse on the 2nd floor next to the pool- you won't get weird looks for Instagramming the heck out of your breakfast, everyone's doing it. Head's up: The lobby literally turns into a nightclub into the wee hours- like DJ, dancing, music absolutely blasting- which we happily couldn't hear from our room, though I can imagine rooms on the lower floors could. Valet parking is $38/night, which seems insane but is pretty comparable for LA, and probably less than a parking ticket- street/self parking is available but pretty limited and often requires permits.

"Stay-Cation"
My husband and I stayed at the Omni just for a night for a stay-cation; we live in Long Beach. We were pleasantly greeted by the valet, the Bellhop and Registry staff with big smiles! Our room was a corner room on the southwest corner and spectacular views! We were able to walk around the city (no problem) and felt safe. We walked to the US Bank Building to ride the skyslide, to Disney Concert Hall and the Broad with ease. We even dressed up that night and walked across the street to Vespaio for dinner (awesome Italian spot with great Martinis!). The Omin is a great location, not too close to Staples but just an Uber away if you needed to. It's quiet, clean, has great room service. The only issue was the bed. Our bed had been warn down so there was a noticeable "canoe-shaped" on one side of the bed. I didn't sleep great; kept waking up trying to find a comfortable position. But my husband's side of the bed was fine. We will definitely stay again when we have events to attend in downtown! Great hotel with beautiful views, great restaurant, perfect location for anyone!

"Excellent Find!"
We needed something near the airport with a shuttle so after reading the reviews, I decided to give it a go. I'm so happy with me decision. The front desk was efficient and friendly and were easily able to get a bell cart for our luggage. The ground are very well kept, very green, and the pool was sparkling clean. On our way to the room we noticed a gated pet park, very nice. Our room had everything we needed and was very clean and comfortable. The Wi-Fi code was given at check in and we had no issues. In the morning, we went to the free breakfast and again was very happy. They had a lot to choose from, something for everyone and had seating inside and a nice patio outside. I especially liked making my own waffles. :-) This is a great place to stay for an overnight or even for a few days. Also, it's nice to have a Denny's attached! Thank you for a great experience, Travelodge!
