"Wow, what an amazing property! We rented a beautiful apartment that was originally created in the 13th century but was very updated and comfortable. Kitchen space had fridge/freezer and oven/range and was stocked with dishes and pans. The on site restaurant was fantastic and the best food we've had in Italy. Beautiful pool and each apartment has their own private changing room at the pool. Really helpful staff, Iwish we would have stayed longer! IMPORTANT NOTE- don't use google maps to navigate there, we did and ended up going up the side of a mountain before turning back. Use Waze."

"Great place for a local beach break. The room was large, clean and had a balcony and mini fridge. Nice check in and lobby. Great breakfast buffet out on the Monte Cristo patio. We also had dinner at Monte Cristo (make a reservation using The Fork app) and the food was wonderful and appropriately priced. The beach is a toss the road and we chose to use the Umberto Beach Club that cost 23 Euros for 2 chairs and umbrella for the day. The beach was wakable and clean and you can walk into town along the sea. Not too busy for May, but I can see how it will be crazy in the summer. Also nice mercato nearby to get snacks, water, wine and beer. Really recommend this place for something different and more local Italian vibe. PS Everyone speaks English so no troubles. Also street parking is free and safe."

"Castello Banfi is a lovely place to take a short retreat in beautiful and astonishingly quiet surroundings. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable, with luxurious linens. The pool was pleasantly warm considering relatively cool weather. The view is lovely. We enjoyed two excellent meals at the Taverna. The staff are gracious and welcoming."

And let’s not forget the wine. If you are looking for a place to make memories in Tuscany, this is the place. We plan to return one day. "

"The house is a beautiful old Italian house with high ceilings with wooden beams and tiled floors. Everything in the house worked pedfectly- wifi, hot water, screens on the windows, kitchen and bath. The house is set in the midst of the Tuscan hills with hikes starting right from the front door. The grounds in the nature preserve are lovely with local plantings. The hostess, Marina, was welcoming, helpful, and altogether delightful. The gravel access road is steep and curvy in places. We were glad to have a manual transmission and went up it in first gear. It's a lovely escape in the country."
