“This is a beautiful condo. Has a full kitchen and stocked with all you need. There was a mishap, when we checked in the spare room bed was not made up but the host was apologetic and refunded 75 for the error. I will state that there was no description that I saw regarding three flights of stairs. That made unloading/ loading difficult and it’s not ideal for elderly or handicapped people. I would recommend for the kitchen knives to be sharpened. All of them are very dull. Also the beds/pillows……

“Everything was amazing and appreciated”

“Beautiful and comfortable! The fire place and fire pit were bonuses as it got cold! Everything was as described and was clean. Could have used another kitchen towel and potholders, but those were just minor inconveniences. Would definitely stay here again!”

“Check-in was a bit tough. The door code supplied was incorrect, it listed 14 digits to enter into the keyless door lock (14 digits, are you kidding!!) they did not work, tried 3-4 times. After calling the management company, they informed me that the first 4 digits were for the key lock box and the last 10 digits were for the door lock and that their software somehow combined the two on the check-in procedures. The 10 digits di open the door lock correctly, but why do you need 10 digits for a……

“We loved our stay at Schaffer Mill. The house was nicer than the pictures showed and everything was well appointed. The house is close to all the amenities such as the pool, tennis courts, basketball court and restaurant. We had a few questions when we arrived and all the Schaffer Mill staff were helpful and responsive. We would definitely stay there again!”

“We enjoyed our stay. The property is very well located - easy walk to nearby restaurants and stores, biking distance from downtown. Plenty of space with 3 bedrooms and generally comfortable. There is a portable AC unit in the living room that was a bit weak, but even though it's hot during the day (July stay) the place cools off very well at night when leaving windows open, so lack of AC was not a concern in the bedrooms. The kitchen is functional although the collection of plates/dishes etc……

“Exceptional communication, and fantastic location. Close to Donner Lake, downtown Truckee shopping and dining, trail access, etc. The small gas grill on the deck is great, and the place really has everything you need. So much nicer than staying in a hotel. Only downside was that these condos don't have air conditioning, but with windows open and fans on it's pretty much fine unless it's really hot out. Will absolutely stay here again.”

“Clean, comfortable condo perfect for our family of four. Location was great with easy access to skiing and downtown Truckee. ”

“We enjoyed the home but the Tv systems and WiFi is terrible. WiFi is too slow and TVs don’t work.”

“This was the perfect place for our September getaway to Truckee. The place is very comfortable and has everything we needed for our nearly month long stay. The location was just what we were looking for with easy access to downtown and recreational opportunities. Kara is an excellent host and she was very responsive the few times we had questions. We would definitely stay here again.”

“We came into town for a lacrosse tournament. Location was perfect, lots of room, nice pool and easy to get to the store and fields. ”

“Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Modern Mountain Lodge was fantastic and well appointed. The decor was superb and the house well-appointed. We had a great stay!”

“Great location close to the 80 which was very convenient during the big snow storm. The front door lock is a bit tricky.”
