"Landary was OK and very useful after week of stay in Japan.Breakfast fresh but we have to pay attention to go early before 7.30 to avoid crowd. Generally very OK."

"The hotel was nice, but clearly there are smoking rooms and you could smell it in the elevators. They are a bit scattered in the restaurant and do disclose allergens, but are sincerely put out if you have a gluten allergy. One employee went out of his way to help with this on our first lunch when there was only one option for me to eat from the whole menu and a large group had just come in before. The bright spot is the onsen and facilities on B1. Next level comfort and posh facilities for families to sit together and enjoy complimentary snacks in between soaks. For kids there are books, ice cream, drinks and cookies. There is also coffee and tea and a gyn with free weights, treadmills and some bosu balls. The check in and check out process could be better with the payment of the city tax just going on your bill and charged to the card you gave on file, but it wasn’t terrible. It’s a lovely property, and if you don’t mind the cigarette smoke smell in the elevators and can eat whatever you want, it’s awesome. "

"Room was clean but extremely small. Staff was nice but not very welcoming. Hardly smiles and even manager standing behind the cashier at checkout didn’t bother to say hello or any acknowledgment. Amenities were self serve at the reception. The only reason we picked it because of location being super close to Kyoto station. It will not return. "

"Beautiful quiet hotel in a great area. Loved that we could walk to Gion in 15 minutes. The shuttle to Kyoto station was a nice perk. The private Onsen was great as well. "
