“Given the ratings/reviews & my experience with similar caliber properties around the world, I was disappointed in certain things. The security guard at the front gate of the property was extremely rude. Didn't welcome us but asked what we were doing there. Our driver was very taken back by his behavior & said he's never seen anyone so rude at this establishment. Two days prior to arrival, I was sent an email form w/ one of the questions asking when we'd be arriving. I selected the noon-2pm……

“Beautiful site on a cove facing the Atlantic. The staff are great and very knowledgeable and helpful. Leatherback turtles nest in the cove and the staff work with a conservation group to facilitate turtle watching. Excellent place to base our visit in Dominica.”

“The perfect place to immerse yourself into the nature that this island is famous for, especially if the Treehouse is available. Very friendly staff, and the breakfasts and dinners are absolutely delicious and always fresh. ”

“The property is in the middle of downtown Roseau so it was easy to walk around town and there was easy access to transportation to get to the different places in Dominica.”

“Accommodation itself is outdated. But very nice beds and super clean rooms with new ac’s. Very friendly staff and a beautiful location. Pool is nice. Food in restaurant is very good. ”

“Burkey's place is beautiful, well stocked and relaxing! We went with two young kids, and we enjoyed the ability to wash our clothes and make dinner, while still being in a unique Jungle setting. Would definitely recommend, especially to a couple or two couples traveling together. ”
