A staff member tried to demonstrate how to use the safe but even that was incorrect. The security on my end room was a little suspect in that the key lock was for the open patio. The sliding doors to the inside of the room did have a somewhat flimsy lock. The restaurant food was tasty. The rooms were well furnished and comfortable; however, the property requires some maintenance as outside our balcony there was stagnant water that resulted in sandflies and mosquitoes. Other than that, our 6 days stay was great!! The hotel arranged a taxi from DOM airport, and I was welcomed warmly and thoughtfully upon arrival. My particular needs were met with great care. My room, really a suite, was well appointed and included a fully stocked kitchen. Everyone on staff was polite and accommodating. I had a late lunch at the hotel's restaurant. My meal was good, but the heat in the no-AC dining room and the constant need to shoo away flies made it a somewhat uncomfortable experience. This was the only downside, and it did not put any sort of damper on my stay. Staff were extremely helpful. Minor inconveniences were addressed timely. The kitchenette was a nice touch to the room. Inclusion of a lift and planned exterior upgrades will better position this facility.
