![Behold... Puu Pehe, known as “Sweetheart Rock”. 

This is Lanai’s most notable landmark and the setting for one of Hawaii’s epic legends.
Story goes a hottie princess from Maui was "captured" by a young warrior from Lanai. He made her his wife and he was so smitten with her beauty and... apparently so insecure that he was afraid to let other men see her so kept her in a sea cave near the rock when he was away. One day the weather suddenly changes, the surf slams the area, and... yup, one less princess. The warrior rushed back to the cave, but it was too late, he climbed the steep rock where he buried her in a tomb and then overcome with grief leapt to his death.

“The room was clean, the staff was friendly and accommodating. The towel ordering works well. There is no house keeping which is perfectly fine, the place was clean when we arrived. Having a kitchen helped a lot with trip expenses. This is a convenient location, short walk to the bay, food, and coffee. The pool and hot tub seemed clean and well maintained. ![Behold... Puu Pehe, known as “Sweetheart Rock”. 

This is Lanai’s most notable landmark and the setting for one of Hawaii’s epic legends.
Story goes a hottie princess from Maui was "captured" by a young warrior from Lanai. He made her his wife and he was so smitten with her beauty and... apparently so insecure that he was afraid to let other men see her so kept her in a sea cave near the rock when he was away. One day the weather suddenly changes, the surf slams the area, and... yup, one less princess. The warrior rushed back to the cave, but it was too late, he climbed the steep rock where he buried her in a tomb and then overcome with grief leapt to his death.
