The Parkman - Great Smoky Mountains

"The property was beautiful and the room was generally very clean. We had air conditioning issues that we hope the hotel will address. We also had some country ants at the hotel sprayed to make us feel more comfortable. The breakfast could have been better, as items were out of stock and us guests had to go through the cabinets to refill napkins, bowls etc. And a few hot options would have been great!!!"

"This hotel was in the perfect location. The property was well maintained, the staff was excellent. I should have read a little deeper, I wasn't thinking it was going to be more of a motel layout but with that aside it was nice. The pool wasn't open for a day when it was really hot so that was a negative and I felt like the floors could have been a little cleaner. But overall I would stay there again!"

"Nantahala Village is, first and foremost, situated in a beautiful mountain location, looking out across a valley to other mountains in the distance. It is very close to Nantahala Outdoor Center and close to Bryson City, as well, so it makes a great base camp for excursions to either destination. The lodge has a very nice swimming pool that is clean and properly maintained. The lodge itself has been renovated and is very well done; the detail work in the decor is impressive. We loved the swing and rocking chairs on the wrap-around porch. Our room was freshly painted had new flooring, and was impeccably clean, but the mountain view from our window stole the show. The owner, Constantine, his front desk staff, and his housekeeping staff earn an A+ for hospitality - super people who will make you want to come back. The lodge also offers meeting rooms and a large, covered, open-air event pavilion that overlooks the mountain range - a great facility for a wedding, family reunion, or other get-together. A small, open-air, hippie-esque (I made up that term) bar across the road from the lodge offers some food items that were pretty good and had live music at night. The music could be loud, however, with plenty of bass to invade guest rooms in the lodge, but ended about 11:00. Otherwise, the lodge was a peaceful and quiet as could be - a great place to rest and recharge. Highly recommended - we look forward to our next stay at Nantahala Village."

"I stayed in the cottage for 3 nights with a friend of mine. It was a perfect base for us to explore the nearby mountain roads for daily drives, such as the Tail of the Dragon. Bill was super friendly at the front desk and gave us helpful tips such as a hike to a nearby amazing waterfall. The cottage was clean and tidy on the inside, a 70s vibe with wood paneling and furniture and a small kitchen with everything we needed. There was coffee, filters and plenty of towels. The outside could use some maintenance in terms of tidying up bushes and driveway, but we appreciated overall the great value for what was delivered. I would definitely stay again."

"The cabin was clean and well equipped except for the kitchen which could have used some pot holders and dish towels. The phone did not work as listed so there was no form of communication from the cabin.Other than that we really enjoyed the property. Being right on the creek was a plus."
