“Overall the stay was great the beds could have been more comfortable. I woke up a few time sweating due to the mattress cover.when we walked down to the river there was a bunch of broken glass from beer bottles it looks like. We cleaned it up. Wonderful cottage though. ”

“Gorgeous, peaceful setting in the middle of nowhere, which is exactly what we were looking for. We wanted to get away from it all, and Maria and Randy provided that opportunity. The house has been renovated beautifully, and someone has some great taste! I love all the green tones, wood, brick, and...oh, the velvet!Although the house is wonderful, including a full-stocked, high-end kitchen, I admit that I most sitting by the river and playing Frisbee with my family, as well as my solo strolls……

“Had a beautiful and restful few days at "The Cottage." The full property is very private and the salt water pool made it feel like an oasis. There were lots of pool rafts to use which made the pool even better. The full property is very well maintained and the cottage was very clean, nicely decorated, and cozy. Has everything you need for grilling and chilling but also some fun on site activites. Wonderful stay and many thanks to our hosts and their cool dogs! The host Brian was very friendly……

“This was our fourth trip to the river house. This time we went to celebrate my granddaughter who turned 13 and my daughter who turned 30. It was a wonderful week full of fun, adventure, hiking, swimming/playing in the river, s’mores, food and games. This is the absolute best place in the world for quality family time. This place really feels like home. 🥰”

“My husband and I did a solo trip to visit an area we have been wanting to see for a long time, the Shenandoah Valley. Ferne and her family went above and beyond to welcome us and to assist in any way possible to make our visit even more special.This has been by far our best experience yet with a rental and will highly recommend the home to others. “Loved staying at the Birds and Bees Cottage. It was so peaceful waking up each day, sitting on the porch and enjoying the views of the farm. This cottage was the perfect spot to unwind after visiting some local wineries. It was quiet and very easy to relax on the porch with a good book in the evening. Hope to return in the fall. ”
