“A delightful beautifully decorated Victorian hotel from 1875. A very nice parlor to relax in with games for the kids and an equally charming dining room. Breakfast if you want it. Your host, Simone, loves to talk with her guests and is very helpful. Several good restaurants just a block away”

“Property was very nice. everything we needed was there.if we ever go back to nova Scotia would probably try to stay there again ”

“The property is well kept up for its age and is in a good location for walking the city waterfront. There were 5 of us and we were comfortable in the family room with 2 double and 2 twin beds, which is great for a larger family. Breakfast was as good as any we’ve had with lots of selection and seating.”

“We stayed here one night. Rooms are generally clean, albeit a little dated. Decent size. There was a fridge and microwave in the room which was handy. The location is great for visiting the Louisberg fortress and the light house. the light house is a five min drive and the fortress entrance is 6 min drive. They do provide a breakfast. Nothing fancy. cereal and toast and what looked like powdered eggs. Parking is easy. the staff were friendly. ”

“We wish we could live at Rita’s retreat all the time! Our room was nice and cozy. The backyard is so spacious and peaceful all the way down to the water. The indoor saltwater pool was icing on the cake! Mike was very accommodating, helpful and fun to talk to— I recommend Rita’s Retreat!”

“The location was beautiful and well cared for. It is a true family run business with the feeling of the passion and love of the owners in all aspects. My brother and I enjoyed our stay and met the owners *who gave me a ride back up the hill when I forgot my keys! I would recommend to anyone looking for a Cabot Trail basecamp! ”

“This is a unique stay on the world famous Cabot Trail. It is a one room cabin, like a treehouse over looking St Anns Bay. The washroom facilities are a short walk down hill the facilities. It is not for everybody. It definitely worked for us! We spent 5 nights of relaxing after the beautiful drives we took on the Cabot Trail. The bed was great and having a coffee on the front deck was a great way to start the day. Thank you to the hosts! Cheers @EddieMac75 ”
