“The building from the road looks run down. The check in staff were nice. It’s a bit frustrating that my Tangerine MasterCard was not accepted… it’s still a valid credit card. The room was small but had what it needed. I did like the water pressure in the shower. We also liked the fact that the fridge was bigger than most hotel mini fridges. Also nice that there was a microwave. However when my husband sat at the desk to do some work…. He found a cockroach taped to the side of the tv stand!!! We……

“We booked 2 rooms and they wanted to split us up and put 1 couple in the basement!! Stay away from the basement! Smelly and dark! We were finally able to get both rooms together which were fine! AC worked well and breakfast was really good! Cigarette butts everywhere outside and a dead mouse in the parking lot! Very disappointed at this Best Western!”

I chose the Royal Hotel based on its excellent Google reviews and the owners' thoughtful responses, and it did not disappoint—I enjoyed my stay so much that I've already booked another night for next week. Baby Rango the toy poodle and Billy Bean the Siamese cat are absolutely adorable, and Carmen is as warm, colourful, and memorable as the hotel itself.”

“I've always enjoyed the North hotel. Only disappointment this time is that I travelled with my puppy and there are only double beds in pet friendly rooms which made sleeping poor. Otherwise, cleanliness was perfect.”

“An incredible Airbnb decorated during the era of the home build of 1880. Host was absolutely fantastic. She was an incredible host and made a fabulous breakfast for us. She made us feel completely at home.”

“The restaurant was not open when we arrived so I can not rate it. It was open at check out and there were a number of people dining there.”

“The hotel is located on a point 5 minutes from the Fort of Louisburg. Each room had its own entrance and was beautifully decorated. We had dinner in the restaurant which also had entertainment. The waiters looked familiar and had Scottish accents. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. There was lots of parking and we could see the Fort of Louisburg from our window. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again if we ever came back.”

“This motel appears to have been built in the 1970s and not much has been done to the rooms since then. The bed sagged badly in the middle. The paint was peeling of the walls an ceiling. It is however the cheapest accommodation in Louisbourg, and the fortress at Louisbourg is well worth a visit.”

“This our second stay and there will be more. The staff are polite, helpful and knowledgeable. The food is great and the location ideal for exploring. Highly recommend this place.”
