“The view of the ocean was the best part. The swimming pool was also excellent. Walking back to the hotel from the main strip was a little tough due to the steep incline. “My partner and I were pleasantly surprised by how incredible the Essence Suites were. The staff were there to greet us upon arrival and we were treated to a fresh lemonade and chocolate covered raspberries. “We had one night here in preparation for a boa excursion on the following day. The room was ok but no tea or coffee provided despite there being a kettle and mugs. No water in fridge. “The hotel is located in Lassi, and is just a short journey from the airport (approx 10 mins). The taxi journey was $20 from airport to hotel, and $25 from hotel back to airport, although a bus is available. The location is absolutely perfect for the amazing Makris Gialos beach, and a 5 minute walk to a supermarket and the beginning of a road full of restaurants and shops. “The room was cleaned every day, in fact the hold complex was spotless. Both Stelios and Anastasia were very approachable and extremely helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. “We booked a week here to visit our daughter who was working in Kefalonia and, for us the location was perfect. Just outside of the gentle, family friendly town of Lixouri on the Paliki peninsula.
