"Room was clean and comfortable. Everything was good, except two moments - during the breakfast there were odd people. Honestly, it looks like the hotel participates in program to feed homeless people and it is ok, but usually they come after breakfast hours, not during. And also there was a smell of marijuana everywhere and one of the workers smoked on the stairs in our building."

"The room was ok as far as cleanliness, as far as Marriott properties go I was disappointed. The room specifically was so hot without any air on that I needed to turn on the AC. The walls were paper thin, to the point where someone came out of their room and slammed their door and it physically shook the room I was staying in. The bed was uncomfortable, it was honestly one of my worst experiences in a Marriott property but clearly wasn’t the worst hotel option in the area either, hence my average review. I’m sure I could’ve had the same experience at a Holiday Inn or La Quinta the quality versus price wasn’t worth it at all. The front desk attendant was very kind though. Overall average hotel stay, but a poor Marriott experience. "

"Room pictures are miss leading to what you get.The pool was ice cold .There is green mold on furniture ,wall, and floor around pool.Metal strips in hallway holding carpet down. Junk laying around parking lot. Somebody's clothes and medical records laying out in parking lot ."

"Booked this hotel thru Expedia and got a very good price. It is just around the corner from the Hartford train and bus stations so it's wonderfully convenient. Just a few issues - First, the front door on Asylum Street is locked, with no sign to tell folks to walk around to the side entrance. Second - when we opened the door to our room, we found that IT HAD NOT BEEN CLEANED after the previous guests checked out - bed not made, used towels all over the bathroom (!) The clerk apologized and gave us another room - mistakes are made, but this was so dumb! Third - the bathroom faucets had crud on them (not just tarnish, but some gunk that could have been scrubbed off). Fourth - nice breakfast room, but no packets of half & half for coffee, only those flavored Coffee Mate thingies; there was 2% milk in the fridge for cereal, but this was almost gone; instead of scrambled eggs they had these rubbery egg disks. Despite my 3-star rating, I would still stay at the Capitol because of the convenient location."
