“Very friendly staff and lots of old grandeur ! The pillows were not good, only complaint ”

“The plus was free parking, within walking distance of city centre, provided you ordered and paid for breakfast the night before, it provided good value for money, and quality bathroom towels. Hotel is aged and rooms would benefit from a 'face lift'. Happy to recommend.”

“Welcome was average, just going through the motions. Club room was furnished with some taste, although a bit of wear was showing on furniture. Bathroom fan not working, which drives me mad but I’ve given up complaining to any hotel as it’s so common. I know these things burn out easily when lights are left on permanently so it’s an occupational hazard for the hotels; I do sympathise a little. Bed very comfortable; good nights sleep and great views of the bridge. Didn’t eat breakfast as I travel……

“Trip was lovely, room was a little small but does the job for a night away, had a few issues getting the main TV working as the remote wasn't the correct one for the TV, but got there eventually. Personally I think the parking charge is a little expensive, it would be better if the parking was free for guests ”

“Soundproof isn’t quiet good, especially on Saturday night when there were too many drunk ladies, they came back super late, very loud, also they tried to open my door, many times, 3am to 4am, I didn’t sleep at all.”

“Friendly staff. We had to park across the road on another site. Room clean and comfortable bed. There is no lift. We didn’t eat in the hotel. Reasonably quiet by we were woken at 6.30 on Saturday morning with unexplained noise from the roof. ”

“Clean and spacious room, large bed, comfortable mattress. No slippers and tooth brush set provided but if you ask the staff, they will give them to you. ”

“Lovely stay, made even better by lovely, friendly staff. Everyone we met was so helpful and welcoming. Excellent breakfast. Deluxe room was roomy, quiet and added benefit of separate bath and shower. I struggle to find fault....maybe a USB or plug by bed. ”

“Clean but building work was ongoing, reception toilets were out of order. Bed was comfy but the pillows were very hard. Great location, friendly staff on reception and bar ”
