The accommodation was awesome. Perfect stay for a girls night away. The bar downstairs was great and staff really friendly and happy to help. Spot on location for easy walk into the city.

Security Looked after our Dog!!!!

Rooms were excellant, breakfast was really good but best of all the most dog friendly place I've everstayed!! This was an extremely busy Saturday night pub where I sat at the bar with my dog also sat on a stool. When door security come over and make a fuss of your dog and go and get some treats, it was just brilliant. A really lovely stay. I won't make the mistake of asking for a full English for breakfast in a Welsh pub again!!!

First trip to Cardiff

The staff are amazingly friendly and check-in/check-out is a breeze. The bar and restaurant are amazing. Very spacious rooms in an amazing area of Cardiff; very easy walk to parks, city center, stadiums, train and bus stations, etc.

Great place! Nice and central to walk everywhere and easy to park out front without costing a fortune!! Be prepared for a bit of noise as it’s a popular pub and doesn’t quiet down until midnight! We stayed a Friday night and the place was buzzing.

Busy pub. Food stopped in the evening as they were busy No breakfast and parking was bad we just about got a space If you want to stay here make sure you are aware of what is going on in Cardiff!

Lovely stay in Cardiff

Great sized room and bathroom. Was little worried about the possible noise from pub downstairs, but it was not an issue. Bed was very comfortable to sleep in. Easy to get in and out, even during early mornings, when the pub was not open. Very helpful staff. Good accommodation near the city.

The staff were lovely and helpful. They held our bags before check in and after check out so we could get extra sightseeing in. We had two rooms with super comfortable beds. Lots of space and nicely decorated. There is an awesome family friendly pub downstairs that closes by 11 so no late noises to keep you awake. But you can also tip one back before you head off to sleep. Close to everything. On a nice shady street with other restaurants nearby and a short walk to Bute Park. I will be coming back.

Quaint neighbourhood boutique hotel

We stayed six nights in room 8. It is the small window in the middle at the top overlooking the street. There is very light noise from the patio which never bothered us and the noise is generally done by 10pm. The room is quite tight but very adequate since we spent little time in it. They held our bags until checkin which we greatly appreciate. It’s immediately beside the park for great walking paths and nicely situated in a gorgeous neighborhood about ten minutes walk from the downtown. We would definitely stay here again.

The hotel staff are lovely, kind and welcoming. The hotel itself is nice if a little bit on the tired side, the room we stayed in was the first floor front room. The bed was creaky and made quite a bit of noise whenever anyone moved on it and the mattress was rather firm and uncomfortable but I appreciate taste differ on this. The building itself was loud and you could hear much of what was going on both down in the bar and above. Our stay and night sleep was interupted by some other guests returning drunk at 3.45am, having locked themselves out. They screamed the place down and we had to call the night manager who lives off site to come and sort it out. When reported to the staff they were hugely apologetic and sorted us out with some discounts on breakfast and coffee which was much appreciated! I know that hotels cant control their guests so dont hold this against them and was appreciative of their attempts to remedy my stay, it is worth noting that the proximity to cardiff city centre probably played a role in this so bear that in mind when looking to stay at this property. All in all it was a nice property and suited our needs for the night and the weekend. I would recommend a stay here when location and cost are important factors

Had an excellent stay at the Pontcanna Inn! I had a last-minute trip to Cardiff come up and was very happy to find such a lovely place on short notice. The room was, clean, cozy, and very comfortable. Despite being above a pub and close to the street, the room was very quiet. I could hardly hear any noise from the pub or the street during my time there. Would definitely recommend the Pontcanna Inn for anyone looking for a stay in Cardiff.

we only stayed one night .lovely room , super comfy and easy to get everywhere by foot . Parking is very tricky . Staff were great , really friendly and helpful . we stayed mid week but imagine it would be fairly noisy at a weekend .

Loved the hotel. The room was very nice and big, and even though we didn’t have a dog, it was really nice to see that dogs were welcome. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and visit again

Pontcanna Inn is a funky place to stay, the room was clean, spacious and boutique style. The vibe of the bar area downstairs was fun and cool during the daytime, we arrived on a Saturday. We were visiting for a concert and it was a great location to the Principality Stadium. When we arrived back at the hotel after the concert, it was a very different vibe. It was extremely busy, full of the younger generation drinking, sticky floors, lots of empty glasses and felt uninviting to hotel guests. We wanted to have a drink before heading to our room, but couldn’t get served at the busy bars and there was no where to sit as it was so busy. We ended up walking to the local garage to get drinks for the room. The noise downstairs was loud but stopped after about 12:30pm when they have stopped serving at the bars. It would be nice if they had a quieter section of the Inn for hotel guests. Also there was nothing to stop anyone waking up to the rooms where guests are staying. They have door men, but they are very pre occupied with the busyness of the bars. We did not stay for breakfast because only a few hours prior it was in quite a mess. I realise this is an Inn, but the environment it became was was not for us at all, which was ashame because our initial reactions were all positive.

Good times

Really great staff. The room was spacious and some nice touches. Air con would have been good but the fan in room was welcome. Was expecting a bit of noise but didn't notice anything. Breakfast was tasty but was unsure what was/not included. Great location for stadium which is why we stayed there. Would go again for sure.

Nice place

Really nice place. Was only there for one night for Oasis gig. Room quite small but really nice. Great shower and everything you need for nice stay. Clearly the price I paid had been hiked because of the concert but that applies to every hotel in Cardiff. Overall I was really happy with my stay
