"My wife, our Jack Russell terrier and l had a three day stay in Cottage no 1. Probably the best dog friendly accommodation we have ever staying in.
The one bedroom cottage was modern, immaculate and complete with every imaginable accessory such as vacuum cleaner, ironing board and iron, hair dryer etc. As well as a microwave, the kitchen area had a full size fridge, oven and hob, washing machine and dishwasher, with operating instructions for each appliance. Both bedroom and lounge had a television and the pillows, bedding and towels were high quality. We were even supplied with a doggy mattress, towel, and bowls. We were able to park outside our front door over the course of our stay, as there is a separate car park from the hotel approx 75 metres away, which serves the cottages.
We didn't eat breakfast, but had dinner on two nights in the restaurant. All staff we dealt with were polite, friendly and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. We were seated in a specific area for dog owners which was bright ,well decorated and again spotless. The food was first class, service great and
all together great value for money. There was also a good selection of wines and draught beers.
Overall we had a genuine 5 star experience and would highly recommend The Longlands Inn and Restaurant."
"Lovely owners who have run this place for over 40 years. It is set back in time, early 80s and an education and experience of that. However does have Wifi and central to the Town. I was upgraded to a larger room with en suite without asking which was a nice touch. Pleasantly surprised with the cost that it included breakfast, I had porridge, fruit juice, cooked breakfast and toast. All floors have stairs which would not be suitable for the less mobile."
"Very clean on our arrival, the reception greeting 🙂 really made feel relaxed at the start of our trip, the bar staff very good, the parking at our lodge was excellent, the whole of our trip was excellent."
"The room was spotless and well appointed.
My only issue was using the outside stairs in the early morning with a dog and bags to carry. Needed to be very careful!
No harm done but no real alternative to providing out of hours access for the hotel so I have no solution!"
"Great stay there were a few snags it looked like they had refurbished the room and the shower leaked on one of the joints a simple connection adjustment required
Food and room great"
