"This place is confortable and super well situated for visiting Volcanoes National Park, which was our goal. Hot tub is a great bonus. The place was nice and clean, but does not have much cookware. If you're OK eith this, it is a great rental."

"This is in a great location for visiting the park. The house was very clean and well stocked. Each bedroom is very warm and cozy and the hot tub was nice to have."

"It was a beautiful property. We had a wonderful time there. I ended up in the ICU and Kaia took great care of my friends. I would rent this again. "

"We've been staying at this suite for almost 10 years (through previous owners). Looks like they are upgrading, and it looks nice. But the bathroom isn't finished (no show9er door, so we had to put down towels everywhere). The fan/light worked upstairs, but no other switches, lights . Can't see the rest of the screen, so can't type more. Place is still beautiful."

"Great location. We got there at dusk - tropical pathway lights didn't work - most were smashed. Hot tub was not "locked up" as supposed to be - and cloudy. Did not want to chance a UTI so - no tubbing which was the whole reason we picked this little gem. Sink clogged up, wallpaper paper falling off, possible black mold on skylight above bed. No batteries in remote. We left a day early. I hope they fix it up."

"We loved our stay at the Volcano lodge! It was very peaceful, the jacuzzi was a nice place to relax at the end of the evening. Even though there were others staying on the property we rarely saw them. The lush rainforest was beautiful! I would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again! Thank you!"

"This is a beautiful, large house designed and constructed in the 1930s for a wealthy Hilo family. The main interiors are dark wood, with original custom bannisters and similar craftsmanship, and the furnishings are period-correct. The present owners have upgraded in various ways, including adding in-room air conditioning (we didn't need, but it was nice to have the option), retrofitted bathrooms, kitchen, wiring, and similar. The kitchen and public spaces are shared with other guests, which...

"It was lovely and peaceful, as were the hosts. You really feel removed from the hustle of daily life. The road getting there is tricky but the result was worth it. Fabulous, healthy breakfasts."
