"The hostess and her charming house were full of character. We loved her personality and the ability to connect. Sweet, charmingly furnished room has a private bathroom nearby. The room was pretty small but had a wardrobe and a couple of little tables, so enough space to make things comfortable. Just a unique place in a beautiful and worthwhile town. The Verdun Battlefield visit was very moving! "

"Just returned from a wonderful stay at Chez Mathilde near Verdun. Annie, our host, was absolutely lovely — so welcoming and friendly, and she even treated us to delicious homemade goodies. The house itself was amazing, full of character with beautiful traditional features and immaculate furnishings throughout. It really felt like a home away from home. The area is fantastic too, with so much history to explore, especially the WWI sites nearby. We’d highly recommend Chez Mathilde to anyone looking for a charming and memorable stay! "My tour group stayed here for 2 nights. Hotel felt a little dated, but thr excellent service from staff, and the perfect location made up for it. On site restaurant was excellent. The attached bar had a great assortment of beer. "
