Time Honored Adobe Home - Sweeping Ocean View.

Majestically situated on Point Lobos Ridge, this home offers the most incredible white-water and ocean views of Carmel and Pebble Beach imaginable. The home is positioned to take advantage of the natural wonders of the central coast. Experience being perched high above the fog most days. Sunrises and Sunsets are 360 degrees and Carmel Village lights up the night below as the fog thread’s it’s way through the Valley. Thousands of acres of California State Parks open space surround the property, with oceanfront hiking at Point Lobos State Park at the entrance to the road leading to the property. Vast open space precludes distraction, creating an abundance of stars and planet viewing.

You will walk into a time honored original Post Adobe home which was recently restored to it's original condition.

Enjoy the warm of 80 year old first growth redwood post & beam construction. Original mahogany ceiling planks provide a wonderful contrast to the open beam ceiling.

The Chef's appointed kitchen and Freestanding, original adobe fireplace can be the perfect place to add warmth and texture to your vacation stay.

An open floor plan provides plenty of room for good conversation and relaxing. The Kitchen, dining and living areas are all open as part of the great room experience.
We will do everything possible to make this a memorable experience that will endure a lifetime.

We own and operate our home in compliance with Monterey County requirements. The taxes included in the amount you paid when reserving our home are forwarded to the Monterey County Tax Collector under. Certificate No. 000613

We felt like we had stepped back in time in the cozy home, except with all of the modern amenities and luxuries! This "vintage", cozy home was so welcoming and so comfortable. We even had fresh flowers on our arrival. It is a drive up a mountain a bit and out of town but the respite from busy days was ideal for us. Would love to stay here again!

Breathtaking!

I had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home high in the hills overlooking the ocean and Carmel. The photos in the listing give you just a hint at the stunning scenery that envelops you - it was unbelievable. The home itself was comfortable and well appointed, nicely decorated. I really appreciated the privacy. It had everything I could have wanted for my stay. I loved it so much I started planning my next trip while I was still there. Spectacular!

Lovely!

Lou’s house just never disappoints! It’s our second stay and we loved it! The kids love it. The location is fantastic and warmer than in Carmel. House is clean and wonderful to star gaze as there’s no light pollution. The fans worked well to cool the sleeping rooms down. It makes for an unforgettable get away!

Perfectly perched relaxing stay

Carmel and the Monterey Bay area is a world-class destination and this property was perched perfectly to look down on the world-class beauty of it all! So much to do: great hiking everywhere to include Big Sur and its magic, beach walking, whale watching, wonderful restaurants and walking the beautiful town of Carmel. So much to NOT do and just stay on property and relax. We enjoyed a couple days going nowhere and appreciating the incredible views. The house is wonderful and comfortable with a great fireplace and chef-centric kitchen outfitted with everything needed to prepare gourmet meals. Everything was perfect and we can't wait to return!

Like a beautiful painting.

The property took our breath way when we approached it. Amazing setting with gorgeous views. The view is literally above the clouds. Love the house. Great fires on chilly evenings. Gourmet kitchen and comfortable beds. Lou the owner could not have been nicer. Only thing missing was an umbrella. Found the sun can. Be quite intense . Would definitely come back for another stay.

A Lovely Sanctuary!

This is my second time at Lou's beautiful idyllic property tucked up on the ridge, and it was just as lovely as my first experience! The panoramic views are just breathtaking! Both Lou and Pamela are very responsive and accommodating. I decided to extend my stay for one additional night, as I just did not want to leave quite yet, and the process was seamless. The Adobe was very homey and well equipped for all living needs with the gourmet kitchen put to very good use. It truly was the peaceful getaway I was looking for! HOUSE OF SKY

The greedy part of me is hesitant to write this review…my fear…is that more people will rent it…the price will go up…and I’ll never be able to stay there again. My higher self wishes…and blesses everyone who has the opportunity to experience this magical space. Imagine being on Mt. Olympus, above the clouds, on the most beautiful grounds, in a glass house, the grounds beautifully kept…the most magnificent fireplace…another realm that nurtures the soul and the body on so many levels. I wish to whisper on the winds and sing an ode to the adobe house, rising high above the house and at the same time I want to speak loudly so all who need rejuvenation in these troubled times can find nurturing in this house of SKY....S.M. Our Happy Place...

This is my second visit to this home, and it has now “officially" become my happy place- far from the fast pace of Chicago. I was thrilled for my husband to experience this home with amazing views,where you can truly experience genuine peace and quiet! Lou is the most gracious and accommodating host. Very responsive and ensured that we had a wonderful experience. The 1.8 mile drive up to the property is well worth it as you are greeted with unforgettable views of the bay to the west (sunset) and tree covered mountains to the east (sunrise). Easy access to grocery store and downtown Carmel/Beach. We made all our meals on site, grilling /using the well-equipped kitchen. We enjoyed hiking throughout the day- Point Lobos State Park is literally at the end of the lane and heading south, Big Sur a beautiful winding drive. Lazy afternoons and evenings were spent outside on the patio enjoying the views and wildlife. The home is comfortably furnished and stocked with plenty of wood for the fireplace. My husband agrees that the bathroom with heated floors and toilet seat is a luxury we must figure out how to install in our home 😊. We highly recommend this home and we are already planning out dates for our next trip to this hidden gem!

Magic Little Cottage on a Hill

What a beautiful little cottage overlooking Carmel and Monterey bay. We shared a warm long weekend with our family. The fog and fireplace were lovely.

We had a fantastic stay at this property. The views were even more appealing than the listing can do justice to. We really enjoyed being inside and outside while we were there and taking in all that Carmel and the surrounding areas offered. Lou was great to work with throughout the process. Heavenly views

Just as advertised. The property was well maintained with a comfortable rustic charm. The kitchen was excellent and the beds comfortable. The location was just amazing. I’ve been all over the world and this is one of the most beautiful locations I’ve ever visited. Would definitely recommend 6 stars out of 5!

This house feels LOVED!

This is a lovely house, with a great kitchen for cooking! Also the bathroom is so nice, with heated floors and bidet, quite a step up from your typical short term rental. Lou was very responsive whenever I had a question. It’s in a beautiful location but it is a bit of a drive to get up there (price to pay for peace and quiet and a view!), just so people are aware.

Great Christmas stay

Heaven on earth! Looking out I loved seeing the ocean to the left while my husband enjoyed the mountains to the right. We were so comfortable and the views so special that we were never in a hurry to leave. The pots of plants inside and out added an extra touch.

Unique property with panoramic views

Grew up in Carmel. 30 yrs worth. I can say that the location and privacy with fantastic views of the Pacific/ Carmel and Mission Beach are outstanding as well as views out Carmel Valley. Charming home that has a wonderful kitchen along with nice bath and comfortable bedrooms. Having stayed in just about every location and type of homes on the Monterey Peninsula, I can say that this property is special. The drive up the hill to the top takes about 5-6 minutes. Not bad. From the bottom of the hill your are 5 minutes to groceries and dining. The owner is responsive and polite. A real pleasure ! Bring your binoculars...

Cloud 9

Felt like I was on Cloud 9. This is definitely the place to go to relax and enjoy the true beauty of God’s creation. And at the same time, shops and great restaurants were a mere 10 minutes away. This home is well equipped with lots of nice upgrades. My favorite being the heated bathroom floors. The owner is quite responsive and a really nice guy.

Dreamy Carmel Escape

Quaint with amazing views. We enjoyed the gourmet kitchen and the patios around most of the property. The rosemary was blooming and a friendly lizard came out daily to enjoy coffee with us. Super bonus was that we were above the fog most of the time and enjoyed watching it roll in and out. The road way up is long and winding so glad they warned us ahead of time.....it was worth it:)

Stunning and Regenerative

This house is a dream come true. My family and I could not have enjoyed our stay more. The view is every bit as spectacular as you would expect and more so. We barely left the house the entire time we were there, and will definitely return again. Lou was fantastic, and we had everything we would need.
