The clerk was very helpful in giving directions to dining and such. The fuel stop next door was great, with very good breakfast options, and the eating establishment in town had great food at reasonable prices, and great service--very friendly. Location was very convenient to both 281 and I90, and in close proximity to a major town.

The management charged for two night for rooms that was canceled even after I had confirmed the cancelation with the company and Smart Choice inn in Plankinton SD.

OMG this was horrible. Booked the Smart Choice Inn on Expedia. On arrival, found this is no longer a Smart Choice Inn, the sign says Rodeway. Clerk said we could get a room but we'd have to pay them as they are under new ownership and don't have access to the Expedia account. We were tired and needed to get off the road, so we did, even though the place is filthy and run down. The bed had a crackly plastic covered mattress and ill fitting sheets, so we ended up sleeping on the plastic and sticking to it after the sheets moved. There were ants in the bathroom and a stain on the chair that I wouldn't even touch if i had gloves on. There was no breakfast as advertised, which was good because I wouldn't eat in that lobby anyway. There WAS a pot of pretty decent coffee though. DO NOT stay here unless you have no options and for sure don't book through Expedia, I've been working with them for the last hour trying to get a refund for the charges the hotel couldn't access.

Air-conditioning was working laud, room was smelled bad like d no one got IN 100 years, receptionist are never there on reception, only have phone number to call etc. Fire alarms are not active- batteries removed, name of the hotel on Google or this site for booking are totally different. This motel one night worth 20$ max not 78$.

There was free parking in their gravel parking lot. Beside the blood stained shower curtain and the wafer thin sheets that had holes in them we probably won’t return. The actual breakfast was two plastic containers with dry cereal in them. We decided to skip that.

The motel has a different name. Pulled up at night and lights were flickering giving Bates Motel vibes! A biker in the parking lot told us not to stay there but there was no place else to go at the time. Had to call a personal phone # to get a desk clerk. She came out in shorts and dirty tank top with no bra or shoes. Didn’t check id or credit card. I do have to point out that the room was a little better than the rest of the building. Bare wires exposed, rust and holes in the walls. would not sleep under blankets…yuck! Locked ourselves in the room and was concerned for the safety of the car. But the biker was outside with about 10 bikes all night and he kept an eye on our stuff as well. Just stay away!!!!!!
