The location and hotel surroundings are nice, but the rooms are old and not well maintained. The restaurant serves wonderful meals, one of the best lobster bisque we’ve ever had. The wrap around porch is awesome with heaters. In saying all this, the inn needs some TLC. Our room had paint chipping on the walls and all around the shower. The shower head was awful. There isn’t a main door to the front desk and the one our driver brought us in was like we were walking into a shed, very weird . The rooms desperately need updating even just to replace rusty furniture. Lovely property with dark hardwood floors, tongue and groove walls and ceiling fans to move around the cooler coastal air. The rooms are small but clean and available with or without private baths. The inn offers a restaurant with excellent farm/sea to table menu options. The wrap around porch provides amazing sunset views and views of the harbor and golf course. Spotty WIFI and no TV’s ……. Very Friendly Staff. This Old Charm Inn on Chebeague Island in Maine, Service is excellent and Very Clean and Affordable. I went to relax and recover from work which worked out perfectly. The service was great and the food was excellent! If you are one to check-in late, i recommend not to even stay on the island. We called a couple weeks in advance, no return calls. Called when we got on the ferry to get more info, no amswer again. The ferry dropped us off, thankfully after hauling our luggage up the hill, the Inn was the only building with lights on within sight. Reception, my teenagers are better with lunch guests at our home. I wish them luck. It seems you either are used to island, or you learn by fire, i recommend to stay in old orchard beach, its where we will probably stay next time.
