Hotel itself left a lot to be desired. Staff was nice but pool and hottub were run down and disgusting. Rust, algae and black mold everywhere. Wouldn’t let my kids swim and left within an hour of checkin and got a new hotel.

Hotel has mold everywhere in the bathrooms by the pool and hot tub walls torn apart black mold everywhere hot tub has no jets and the pool is ice cold no heat it’s broken as well many guest complaining at the front desk it is very disgusting I’ve need made a bad review like this one but that was a terrible stay should not be able to rent rooms like this and when I complained I was told to cancel but I wouldn’t get a refund

Had to switch rooms because the smell was so bad. Everything broken or taped together. Great staff. Overall this place is a dump and gross, trust me. They also have started a remodel so lots of torn up flooring and wet paint. Don’t stay here, at least until the remodel is complete. Location is great.

We did not use or see the laundry facilities. There were many areas under some type of repair, including loose floor tiles and carpeting. The pool/hot-tub area was pretty beat down and not functioning properly, the changing/restroom was out of order also so there was no privacy in changing or removing clothing, so you either had to scurry through the entire hotel in swimwear or hope you didn’t offend anyone by stripping off in the corner. The chirping fire alarms in our suite in the middle of the night and in other rooms down the hall made it very difficult to have gotten a decent nights sleep during our stay. Along with the multiple random people attempting to enter our suite during the entire stay made it a bit concerning.

Property looked rundown bedding was yellowed and stained. Hot tub was not working just standing hot water in it I was told. When I expressed my concerns at the front desk and asked if there was something they could do give me a partial refund or a full refund I was told it was up to Expedia. I chatted back-and-forth with an agent from Expedia. They said the property could make an allowance and charge a penalty and let us out of the hotel rooms. The young gentleman behind the desk told me that Expedia was lying so the two of us just packed up and left and got another hotel.

When checking in and throughout our stay the staff were VERY nice. The condition of the pool room is not thay great, the elevator was loud, they might have been in the middle of some construction but there wasn't any signs indicating so. I asked for another towel as we had 2 in our room, and there was none in the pool area, and we were a party of 3, and they did not have any at the front desk. I knew for the price I paid it wasn't going to be a great place, but I was less than impressed.

I really feel terrible making this review because the staff is really great-particularly front desk. I did have to switch rooms the first night because of bad room conditions. Lots of dust, musty smell, and a large red stain on the carpeting. The thermostat came off the wall when I tried to adjust it for warmth and there was a large hole behind it. Overall the next room was OK, but again another mystery stain on the carpet. I ended up buying some Clorox wipes to wipe things down myself. I dealt with it for the lovely staff, the location, and the lack of availability at other places nearby with comparable prices. I know they have recently had a switch in ownership and will be happy to visit again when some TLC has been given to the space.

The Long Creek Hotel is a good place to stay. It is close to the Maine Mall and also South Portland. It used to be a Hampton Inn and is being remodeled into a Hilton. Clean rooms, a pool, an exercise room, and a friendly staff. The hotel is being updated and in some places is a little threadbare. Nice staff, decent self service breakfast, and close to things. Reasonable winter rates. A good place to stay.
