The trail drops abruptly at what all would consider its end about a mile away from the trailhead. Fortunately or not, this last mile is actually an old country road that passes a few hundred feet below the gorge highway (State Highway 14) only to intersect with it at the very end.

Technically speaking, this last stretch of road is part of the Cape Horn Trail, and is picturesque enough to warrant that categorization.

Loved all the woodsy/mountain/western decor and despite not being as remote as we had initially anticipated (this is located within a community of cabins and rentals) it was very quiet, we did not run into any other renters/Neighbors the whole time, the river view and access was great, and the kitchen was totally up to par for us to enjoy home-cooked meals. Wildwood (just down the road) was a beautiful oasis and the proximity to other hiking/fishing/recreation was outstanding.
