"I've been travelling in hostals since 35 years. I have never seen so dirty rooms. The place is great, but I felt really not comfortable, and I moved out from hostal as soon as I was able to do. The patio is great, the peole nice, but the rooms have to be redone totally. It's definitly awfull. And I'm not talking about the bathrooms."

"Staff super friendly, nice view of volcano from upper patio area. The room was a bit small with the 3 beds, but it was no problem as the beds were comfortable. No parking on site, but a parking lot close by. You can walk around to the grocery stores and the Market but Central Park is a bit further. The taxis charge about $5 to take you to the park and the tuktuk drivers about half that but can only take you to within a block of the park. The free breakfast is great, eggs, fruit, beans,...

Camping & Travel Antigua - Hostel

"I know I only paid $5 a night, but the pictures online were way better than my stay. My Japanese futon was not comfortable at all. My tent was ontop of a wood pallet, so there were ridges on my futon-very uncomfortable all night. My tent never zipped all the way up - something was wrong with the zipper. The wifi wasn't working at all at night when I needed it. The shower was probably the best thing."

Maya Papaya - Hostel
2.5 star property
10.0 out of 10, Exceptional, (1)
"Maya Papaya far exceeded our expectation. Very glad we chose this over the more popular Selina. Maya Papaya is a quaint hostel with a quieter crowd. I felt like I could hang out there all day because it was so cute and relaxing. Our private room was cleaned daily. Breakfast was great. The owners were sweet and the two puppies were delightful. Had no problems with WiFi or hot water whatsoever. A beyond pleasant stay :)"

"Where do I start.. literally the worst place I have stayed in many years traveling. filthy room, no place to hand cloths, no tv, the bed was nearly just springs with a sheet on it. toilet ran all night, told the staff who did nothing, so, the whole place had no water the next morning. The staff said, not our problem, the whole town is out of water. Went next door and across the street and eveyone had water?? This place is one step above sleeping on the street."
