“Quiet & Nice”

I booked this hotel last minute due to last minute changes in plans, and did not have much time to look into this hotel. I Have to say I was very impressed for the price. Hotel Was overall very nice and very clean. Conveniently right across from Alimos Beach. The Tram to Glyfada & Syntagma is also locted just a block over. This hotel is in a residential area so it was pretty quiet. Good hotel for just hanging out and relaxing!

“Extremely nice hotel”

This hotel is fantastic, very clean, modern, friendly staff, well sound proofed, internet access is affordable (you can buy a pre paid card for 20 euros for 500 minutes at the lobby). The location is ok, but the road outside is extremely busy and can take around 10 minutes to cross (this is not an exaggeration), nothing to do with the hotel, just a problem infrastructure.

“Best hotel by the beach”

I have to say in all honesty this hotel is the best hotel if you are looking for both beach relaxtion as well as city action. The beach is right across the road, while Athens city centre is just a tram ride away. The hotel is stylish whilt remaining welcoming and cool! (which is essential in the summer). The staff are friendly, speak good english and very informative.

“Delightful Experience”

What a nice stay we had at the Tropical Hotel. It is located right across the street from the Mediterranean coast. There was a nice view of the ocean from our room. It's also within walking distance to the tram which can transport you all over AThens. There are banks and restaurants within walking distance. The room itself is a bit small, but very clean and modern. The water pressure in the shower is excellent. The complimentary breakfast is extraordinary. They have a delectable spread of pastries, cereals, fruits, eggs, cold cuts, eggs, etc. The service is excellent. We had no problems whatsoever. The pool is very small, almost like a hot-tub, but you have the ocean right there across the street. There is some street noise at night, but hey...you're in AThens! Internet connection was iffy. For some reason I couldn't access my hotmail account. I would definitely recommend this hotel. I can't wait to go back!

“great base for touring Athens”

The Hotel has recently been refurbished and the decor and breakfast is excellent. The rooms are air conditioned and controlled from within the room- it was more than adequate. The road is extremely busy so be prepared and take ear plugs! Its well worth this slight inconvenience to enjoy all the other benefits

“A true gem in Athens”

I was intrigued by other reviews, so I made reservations to this hotel for a very comfortable price (for Athens). I was happily surprised, by the characteristics of this hotel. It is a boutique hotel, which offers three kinds of rooms, depending on the number of guests and amenities requested. My room was a typical hotel room, tastefully decorated in modern tones, and the balcony had a great view of the sea. The bathroom was clean and plenty of towels were available. The cleaning crew was doing an excellent job. The restaurant/bar area was great. Separate seating for non-smokers (a rarity in Greece), and a great patio area leading to the swimming pool. Service was great and attentive enough not to be obtrusive. The staff was very friendly to both Greek and non-Greek speaking clients. Wireless internet was available (and free of charge) only on the concierge and bar areas. I was told that there are plans to expand the range to the rooms soon. Accessibility is one of the strongest points for this hotel, as it is situated on the Poseidonos Blvd, 100m from the Tram stop and easily accessible from both the airport and the city. Taxis are readily available. There are other services, such as laundry, car rental and limo service which I didn't use but I know there were available. All in all, this is a great hotel, right across from the beach, steps from Glyfada and Athens city center, quiet and a great value. I do not need to serch for another hotel on my next trip to Greece.

“Reasonable Price for Athens”

My wife and I stayed in this hotel from 06/06 - 06/13 and found all the staff friendly, helpful and very professional. For the money, this was a great hotel. They COULD do a few things to improve the hotel as it comes up short in the following areas: 1. They have two computers available for internet service (I paid 5 euros for a 90 minute card) but the speed of the internet connection is pretty bad. Also, both computers were filled up with viruses and spyware...so BEWARE...you can rent time in an internet cafe CHEAPER with a faster connection and no viruses that put you at risk for losing credit card and bank info...etc. 2. The swimming pool is a joke...more like a large bathtub. However, you ARE less than 50 meters from the beach so most people wouldn't want to use it anyway 3. The free breakfast buffet is pretty good, but any other meal is not too feasible. A VERY LIMITED menu and all of their food is frozen! In Athens, where there is so much good food and quality restaurants...there isn't a good reason to eat in the hotel restaurant except for the FREE breakfast buffet.

“Great place to stay, though a little far out”

The only two problems with this hotel are the lack of quick transport to the centre and also the lack of directions on its website. Getting around on the tram is the best because it's air-conditioned; takes about 40 mins or so to get to the city centre (e.g. Neos Kosmos station - it has a metro line). Nearest station is Zefyros, which is located about 300m down Possidonos avenue to the north on the opposite side of the road. The hotel is actually situated on the opposite side to the sea and lies down a sidestreet, but still overlooks the sea. It's quite hard to spot without knowing where you are, but a great place to stay nonetheless. So cheap!
