"initially very welcoming hosts, however due to some confusion between 2 other guests arriving early the next morning and the owner, these guests tried twice to enter our room at 5am and woke us up, and were talking loudly to the owner on loudspeaker and the host arrived to tell them to sleep on the coach. "Always a pleasure to stay at the Savoy Grand in Muscat. It is not grand, but everything works --- AC, fridge and hot water --- the beds are comfortable and the staff are extremely helpful. Only 10-15 mins drive from the airport, there is also a city bus from the airport almost to the hotel door. The Bamboo restaurant next door serves an excellent variety of food, and there's a good supermarket 5 mins up the road."

"The staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful. We needed a taxi to the Matrah and also one for the airport the next day early in the morning. They work with a couple of taxi drivers who are really friendly and reliable, whom we felt comfortable with during the rides."
