Bakersfield Hotel

Posted Aug 14, 2014
Pros: Location, the pool, breakfast.
Cons: Bigger pillows, up grade the air conditioning.
Location: See above.
The Rosedale was right off the freeway and close to the Buck Owens Crystal Palace. I do recommend that you check this out if you have any interest in Country Music. The room was fine, but the air conditioner had to be played with in order to get it to work with properly. It was hot in Bakersfield. Fortunately I could cool off in the pool; and it's a nice pool! Breakfast was fine. My wife and daughter really liked the waffles that they made with the hotels waffle machine. One more suggestion: bigger pillows! I would return to the Rosedale if I was staying in Bakersfield, the price is right, they have a nice pool, and I would check out the Crystal Palace again!

The pool was huge!!

Posted Jul 30, 2014
Pros: The pool was the biggest ever for hotel that size, sign read max occ. 64 think they left off a zero. The water was perfect had a great resort feel.
Cons: Just those things wore down by time, if you own a home you know what I mean. Parking lot needs to be redone. repaved and restriped
Location: was only there for the night but there were restaurants close.
Staff was nice and helpful. The hotel itself was a little older but clean, when we arrived the staff was working to assure that. Again a little older so no 5's but there is only so much you can do before you have to tear the place down and start from scratch. The pool had some issues with the tile grout and it may need to be repainted, but a great area, none the less. Even had an area for the kids to play, very nice. Biggest negative like almost every other hotel are the thin walls, thin floors.

Ew

Pros: The lobby was nice.
Cons: See above.
Location: N/A
We reserved this hotel on Expedia.com. This was advertised on Expedia as a 3 star hotel and definitely did NOT meet the standards of even a 1 star. Furniture was old and beat up. Baseboards were dirty and beat up. The decor was extremely outdated, and worse, the room was dirty. We pulled back the bedspread to extremely wrinkled sheets, which looked dirty. The box spring of the bed had stains on it. I wiped the bathroom counter with a tissue and it was dirty. When I asked the front desk for another room, they agreed and ushered me down a hallway that had four buckets lined up under a leaking ceiling. (It was not raining). When I got to the room, it was smaller and the faucet in the bathroom had a leak - - not a drip, it was actually like the faucet was on - even though it was turned off. I didn't inspect the rest of the new room. We checked out before even settling in. After a couple of days of phone calls, I did receive a refund.

Nice price for hotel

Posted Jul 24, 2014
Listen, there's a whole bunch of hotels right next door... Hilton, Marriott, excetera. Stay here for half price of those, and enjoy a nice large room. Yes, it is an older hotel, but is just as clean as the others. Remember, you are in Bakersfield.

One star hotel

Posted Jul 14, 2014
This is just a old hotel that someone put the minimum amount of money into to try to update it. In the lobby checking in there was a thermometer that said it was 89 degrees in the lobby.

Unorganized and old

Posted Jul 7, 2014
The staff had no idea what each other was doing, the room I ordered was sold to someone else, 4 or 5 parties were waiting for their rooms to be cleaned to check in at 3:30pm.
