Perfect getaway
Great stay- perfect place to stay - between Boone and Banner Elk. Near to the parkway for hiking and sightseeing plus Grandfather Vineyard and winery was an easy daily trip to end the afternoon.

Little House on the Prairie!
My wife & I loved this cozy little cabin! It was perfect for us. It's over 100 years but you can tell it's been kept with love! We loved the rustic feel and floors. The home was clean and I loved the back porch area. I sat out there for hours just staring at the lake & mountain view. The gas station is in walking distance and there is a dollar general about 3 miles away for a quick store run. Getting to Boone is only a 10 minute drive. But most of time was spent in the cabin and we loved every minute of it! Shelley was awesome with her communication through text and she left very detailed instructions concerning the property. We will be back soon!!

Quick Stay
As advertised this is a unique old log cabin. A real piece of history, but with essential modern conveniences. It is cute and cozy and served my wife and I well. We enjoyed our short stay.

Quaint and cute little cabin!
We had a lovely stay here and enjoyed our family trip to the area. The cabin was very cute and cozy. It was a little bit cold in the living room with a draft from the front door that made it hard to keep warm but otherwise everything was perfect!

A Hidden Gem
We rang in 2024 in this lovely little cabin. It is a place that gives you a true, rustic mountain experience. We even had a dusting of snow one morning. The original walls and floors are gorgeous. Nicely furnished, comfortable bed and pillows, nice large shower, cozy kitchen that’s well stocked and all of the amenities you would need. But I will say this cabin is not for everybody. It’s not perfect, the floors are uneven and it is drafty. But for us that’s part of the charm of staying in a cabin in the mountains that is over 150 years old. My only negative would be its location behind the storage facility but you could only see the storage facility if you were in the front yard. We spent our time in the back around the fire pit. When the trees are leafed out, I’m sure you see it even less. We hope to come back to this little gem one day!

Fantastic log cabin - thoroughly enjoyed my stay
This log cabin is a very special place. Was lucky to have rented it for five days. A lot of TLC was put in to the house, including everything in its right place including blankets and towels and a very orderly kitchen with all the right items for my stay. The host was excellent and answered questions promptly. Highly recommend this property. Rob

Cute cabin, centrally located
Loved the bed, bath, and overall decor of the place. Only downsides were really the location as it's not very private. But, on the upside it is very centrally located to all that area has to provide, including wineries, trails, waterfalls, and Grandfather Mountain. Overall, definitely a great option. Property manager is wonderful and easy to contact and very helpful.

My wife and I stayed here with a couple friends, and we loved it! The cabin is very comfortable and had everything we needed. It’s very close to Grandfather Mountain and a great winery, and we enjoyed both. Definitely recommend!

Storybook Cabin
You will feel right at home in this cabin. The owner has put so much thought into each detail and provided so many of the comforts of home. What an awesome getaway for me, my SIL, and niece. We loved using the gas logs on chilly mornings and having a glass of wine by the fire pit at night. The beds and pillows were so comfy! I just can’t say enough good things about this place. It’s convenient to everything you want to do too! We are already planning our next trip. Thank you!!

This trip was for our first year wedding Anniversary. I picked this location because I had stayed at it 3 years prior with some family and loved it. Overall the stay was great, there were a few cleanliness issues but overall it is a beautiful cabin in a beautiful town! Loved the surrounding area and all the restaurants.

Unique cabin experience
This cabin has a great location. Appreciated the flat driveway and flat landscape around the cabin. Loved the screen porch. Having a half bath on the first floor and a full bath on the second was wonderful. Our king bed was very comfortable. Having a washer and dryer was great. Yes, it's an old cabin so expect the original wood floors to be uneven. But this place is comfortable and has all the charm and comforts one could need.

We enjoyed the cabin. I loved the age of the original cabin structure and how you could see the original craftsmanship. Great upgrades to give it all that is expected in convince. Location was great for quickly getting around the area for shopping dining and hikes on the parkway.

Wonderful !
This is a sweet little 175 year old cabin and a “one of a kind” experience. The location is great ….close to everything, but yet offers serenity and peace. The property owner was super responsive and cabin well stocked with anything you would need. She even left a nice surprise to enjoy around the camp fire. We would definitely rent again!!

Cute, Clean, Convenient Location.
Overall a lovely stay. Getting to the cabin is a little odd (you drive through a storage center parking lot), but the home is very easy to access and in a super convenient location. The cabin was very cute, clean and had everything we needed for the two nights we were there. Plenty of space to walk our dogs outside and we really enjoyed the screened porch. Not the most private (which the listing clearly states), but would definitely recommend for the location and price.

Interesting old cabin with some small caveats
Very picturesque old log cabin in a nice area (but behind a public storage business, just off the main highway 105) that is mostly a fun stay. The old wood plank floors have some warping, making some edges stick up enough to trip on, and the beds are upstairs, but if you have no trouble walking or climbing stairs, it's not a problem. Nice amenities, gas fireplace that heats well, small but functional kitchen, nice wifi. Good and quick interaction with renter, and no restrictive rules about your stay. We enjoyed our time there.

Cozy little place quite charming on the inside
The beds are double twin and one queen there are no kings unfortunately the TV doesn’t work and the gas grill is beyond repair and the vents for the stove would not work. Cozy nice just not a place for children good place to relax

As listed the Cabin beds upstairs are two very comfortable king-sized beds. The one downstairs is a single. The TV most definitely works as well as the vents on the stove. Confirmed by our handyman during your stay. The grill is older but clean and functional. We do not recommend our Cabin for crawling babies due to the older uneven floor but it is wonderful for older children and families.

Quick Weekend away with the kids

Amazing Experience
This property is AMAZING! I love how they kept as much original as possible and I love all the little "flaws" made by the hand cut wood, it just gives it so much character. The furniture, kitchen and the design just adds to the whole rustic vibe charm. They did a great job at updating this piece of history to bring it up to date with present amenities without destroying the art of the cabin. You do get a clear view of the water in the winter, but there is a steep incline to get to it. It's a gorgeous view though. I have a broken back, had it for 20 years, it's something I've accepted that when I go on vacation the mattress will irritate my back; but this place, I slept like a coma patient on the first night. The mattress was perfect and like sleeping on a cloud with the right type of support for me. The sheets were amazingly soft, the pillows were just perfect for my size. I have NEVER slept in a rental bed as comfortable as this one was. There were little touches where the owner/manager goes above and beyond to ensure a good experience, shampoo, conditioner, body wash dispenser in the shower, the good soaps throughout... I typically bring half my house with me because so many rentals just didn't have things like enough TP or paper towels, but they had these things there, so I didn't need to unpack certain boxes of stuff. The propane fireplace give the great experience of having a fire in the fireplace, but it's propane, you don't have to do all the work of halling wood and trying to get it to light. Just sit back and relax by the fire after a long day of playing in the snow on Sugar Mountain just a 10 minutes down the road. I was hesitant to write this review, scared the secret will get out and it will be booked out next time we want to come, but the owner definitely deserves the business. Shelly is amazing and attentive as well. She's been so nice and making sure we had and we're having a great experience. The floors are original as well, so keep that in mind when booking if you have anyone with mobility issues. Wood warps, expands, contracts and especially the wood was not treated back then. They have done an amazing job at making sure the cracks are minimal for air to get in, but it's an old house, however there were a lot of complaints from my kids I had it too hot because I was expecting way more drafts. We cannot wait to come back to visit again!

Cabin was nice, we had trouble with check in and difficulty finding the cabin. GPS will not take you directly to the cabin, I suggest sending check in notes with location of cabin. Overall nice cabin good location. I would stay there again.

This log cabin was very cozy! It is not far off the road so you do hear some traffic but it was tucked away and not a far drive to grocery stores or restaurants. The neighbors we had staying at the tiny home were also very quiet and respectful. It was a wonderful and relaxing get away.

This is a cute cabin in a great location. There was plenty of space for indoor and outdoor activities. The bedrooms were a good size and the bathroom had everything we needed. All the amenities were excellent and were as listed online. We would definitely stay here again. If you are tall, be sure to watch your head in a few places. :) We loved our cozy mountain cabin and can't wait for our next visit!

Lovely Property
The cabin is charming, comfortable with great mattresses on king beds. The back screened-in porch gave us a wonderful breakfast area each morning surrounded by trees and chirping birds. In the evening, we were able to grill and end the day with a fire in the fire pit again surrounded by nature. The kitchen was fully supplied with all we needed to cook on the stove top, make great drip coffee in the morning, grill, and even whip up some whipping cream for a great Ice cream dessert. TV worked great and there were old favorite games available for group fun. There is a community center across the pond that holds weddings occasionally as we learned Sat evening and the music was loud and went on for hours. But the dj was good and we made the best of it. Otherwise it was quiet and we could easily imagine that we were in a secluded forested area. Shelley, our host, was always responsive and helped us quickly with our questions. We will definitely be back.
