Fantastic customer service! The Sonder chat in the app made things so easy to communicate for calling taxi's, needing an umbrella, directions, and assistance when i lost my phone on the street!! Plaza del Sol is very cool, but definitely adds a day/night noise factor to the stay due to the bar and folks hanging out but the balcony room is awesome. Ear plugs are provided on bedstand just in case you are a light sleeper. Room and linens are nice, facility overall is clean. The hallway to rooms has a motion sensored light, so it was interesting when the elevator doors opened up to a dark hall, but lights quickly turned on! Overall would stay here again, or any Sonder hotel, this is the 3rd location I have stayed with Sonder, and have enjoyed each stay very much!

Stayed here for 4 nights. The location right on plaça del sol was fantastic, right in the middle of local culture and off the beaten tourist path of the city center. Judith at the front desk was also super accommodating, making my stay easy and pleasant.

Literally one if the worst hotel experiences I’ve had, especially considering the price. Hotel room smelled super strongly of bleach, lights were not working, faucets have these complicated handles, my bed was two mattresses pushed together which can be fine, except the bed frame wasn’t made to hold two so they slid apart, it’s directly right next to a noisy plaza when the room is advertised as “sound-proof, and they couldn’t even call me a cab because no one is at the property….when they did call me a cab in advance, it was 20 minutes late and caused me to be late for dinner reservation. Thank you never staying at a Sonder hotel again EVER As some one that travels frequently and up to 200 nights last year, I have a decent sample size when knowing what to expect and this was just horrible.

The La Gracia neighborhood is a wonderful community filled with great local businesses. You will find fantastic food, coffee, bakeries shopping and groceries in a safe walkable community. We loved our stay at Sonder in Placa de Sol. The plaza is a wonderful area where the local community activities occur. Sonder placa de Sol is a very walkable location close to other neighborhoods, public transportation and everything you need. The staff is amazing, always there to help or answer questions. They have excellent recommendations and are very accommodating. The space is perfect for a stay in La Gracia. It was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. The shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided are a high quality natural brand and was a nice added touch. The view of the plaza from the room balcony was perfect. Very charming place to watch the local life and enjoy the community. We hope to be back soon! Thanks for an unforgettable experience.

Great staff, great location, needs a few changes.
The hotel is located in a lovely area of Barcelona with small squares, cafes, restaurants and shops. There is a supermarket located within 50m and it was nice to feel like we were in an authentic Spanish area rather than a tourist hotspot. The hotel itself was clean and well presented. The staff there (between 10 and 6) went out of their way to assist us, showing us places to go on the map, finding umbrellas when it rained and sorting out any issues we had. They spoke amazing English and were super friendly. There is no milk in the room so we got some from the supermarket and the team put a small fridge in our room to keep it cold. The room we had faced away from the main square so was quiet (the main square was so busy on a weekend). We did hear a lot of noise from other guests in the corridor as the walls and door aren’t soundproofed that much. The room was clean but needed to have maintenance work done on it (AC not working, sockets loose). The bed was positioned next to a wall so hard for the second person to get out of bed without waking the other. There is a glass door on the shower/toilet which we found odd and there are only paper cups for the tea/coffee. After a few uses they became a big soggy. Not sure why they couldn’t have a china cup and glass as there is a bar downstairs. There is an amazing roof top garden which was so lovely to chill on and caught lots of sun. I know the price is at the lower end, but with a few small changes it would be amazing.

Lovely small hotel in a great location in the Gracia. Elegant contemporary design. The only negative was the air conditioning was a little underpowered and I do miss having a reception desk with a real person on it. Other than that I enjoyed the stay here very much.

Barcelona Super Secret Casa del Sol
Outstanding boutique hotel with table service for cooked breakfast, ample continental options. All personnel were English speaking and tremendously helpful with suggestions. Room overlooked Plaza del Sol where afternoons were frequented by children with families, evenings by interesting adults including music and song. I was concerned about sleeping arrangements as we're used to CA King bed with plenty of space. To my joy, even "two twins" are actually prepared in king fashion with comfy sheets and THE BEST comforters. Bathroom was clean with amenities. Location was fabulous, five minute walk to Metro station. Buying multi-trip cards (10 or 20) made it easy for us to get around without cabs once we'd FOUND the station. Directions from hotel staff can be a bit iffy for this older woman. Traveling with my husband for our first trip to Spain, we were delayed in Zurich (change of planes) getting into Barcelona by Catalon protesters. Hotel refunded pre-paid first night when we couldn't get in, which they didn't need to do. I'll always return to Hotel La Casa del Sol when visiting Barcelona as it's not IN the middle of touristy sections yet easily accessible to La Familia Sagrada, Las Ramblas, the most amazing up-scale shopping district. Even meeting up with a day trip to Monserrat (don't miss it, I did the hiking tour) was an easy walk from Casa del Sol.

This is the place.
Very helpful staff, especially Alex! Lots of great suggestions from the staff for restaurants, and they were super helpful in getting tickets to attractions. It's in a great location: walking to the Gothic Quarter or Sagrada Familia or even home from Park Guell was a breeze. The rooftop lounge was a wonderful place to unwind after a day out and about—I think we were up there every night. I won't go on and on, I'll just say you'll be happy you picked this hotel.

Great Hotel
Really great hotel in a quiet, friendly area. Between the centre and Park Güell, so well placed for sightseeing but away from the hustle and bustle (and riots in the week we went) plenty of great places to eat and some lovely artisan shops. Our room was spacious, bright and very clean with a great bathroom. Staff very friendly and helpful. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
