Heavenly Hideaway - Bartlett Church - Unique Stay

Probably the coolest most amazing space you will ever stay in!! Your jaw will drop when you walk in for the first time (and we love hearing about your experiences here!!). The open living room and kitchen was the sanctuary and is now the center of this charming home. The Bartlett First Presbyterian Church has an open Loft as the second bedroom-like space that guests will access via a spiral staircase. The bathrooms are huge! The main bathroom has a clawfoot tub and wall to wall tile! The living room is spacious for family events, romantic for weekend getaways, or large enough for weddings and events. The Church is filled with original features and was restored with love and meant to be shared with others for generations to come.

And when its time to go, you won't get a list of 'chores'. We know you are on vacation! We do hope folks will take great care of our historic property, and when you leave our cleaning crew will make it sparkle for the next guest!
You'll have access to the entire converted Church to include the chapel (living room and dining room), 2 sleeping spaces, 2 bathrooms, kitchen and outdoor spaces. Please note the upstairs sleeping space is an open loft (so bring your jammies and just know that you will be sharing space in the name of a truly awesome experience!!)

Bartlett Texas is the most photographed town in Texas! The quaint downtown is just 3 blocks away and is walkable. Bartlett is the host of many movie sets and has many murals from past movie sets in town. Don't forget to check out for more things to do in town while you are visiting.

Remember everything is bigger in Texas! Even the bugs! Despite regular pest control services there are occasional bugs in Texas that can’t be helped. Old buildings are prone to have the occasional spider and seasonally in Texas we see crickets.

Events must be pre-approved by Owner and may incur an addtional fee for added guests.
No Smoking
This is a Historic Building - we ask that guests note that this building is delicate and has been lovingly restored.
PLEASE NOTE that the upper level is only accessed by a spiral staircase. The upstairs loft is an open space and does not have full privacy (as one might expect in an open sanctuary). The Church is beautiful and the lack of privacy is made up in the beauty of the space. Come prepared with extra jammies!

From 95, go west on Pietzsch. The church is at the corner of Pietzsch and Lindeman Streets. The address is 346 W Pietzsch St, Bartlett TX 76511

One of the most unique rentals
Staying here is experiencing something very different. What a beautiful interior and exterior! The thought and investment into this historic church is incredible. Imagine the weddings, the funerals, the sermons, and the souls turning from sin and embracing the Lord Jesus. Very cool.

Love the restoration!
This historical treasure has been so adorably restored with gorgeous modern conveniences while maintaining the intricate work of it's original charm! Very clean, comfy & I especially loved all the little detail additions the the vinyls, antique Bibles, and the magnet on the fridge was THE FUNNIEST thing (I won't ruin the surprise lol). The communication with the owner far surpassed my expectations by going above & beyond for my family's particular needs. I am excited to return & go to the cave tour & maybe see what's going to be opening up in the town soon :)

Perfect for overnight or a wedding venue!
You cannot grasp how cool this place is until you’re standing in it. The history, the architecture, the ambiance— the pictures on Vrbo don’t do it justice. We stayed here for two nights, absolutely adored it (even the pull-out couch was comfortable), and then we had a wedding as well. The chapel served as a perfect backdrop to our nuptials, and Jennifer was so willing to help us in any way possible. We had a perfect wedding and it was in large part thanks to our stay in Bartlett. P.S. The house from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is like 10 minutes up the road, and that was a cool, unexpected highlight of our trip as well. Book this place ASAP.

Lovely Sanctuary
This was a girl’s weekend with sisters and a dear friend who's become a sister to us. We enjoyed the tranquil setting in a very quiet little town. The use of the space, colors and shades made you feel comfortable and relaxed. The renovation was carefully designed to keep the authentic feel. This is a charming choice if you want a peaceful, cozy factor with a bit of farmhouse thrown in! We loved how they kept many original pieces, including a pew, used for seating in the dining area. The windows captured the most beautiful architecture. There was plenty of space for our party of 5! The exterior is well maintained, it’s a nice place for quite time. We were a short drive to Salado, where we spent our day, which is popular for the art galleries, wineries, breweries, sculpture gardens, antique shops, and stores for you to explore! It’s about a 15–20-minute drive to the home and well worth it. Thank you for creating a lovely space for a short getaway!

A very unique property in that a church was turned into this quaint home.
Some amenities were not present such as microwave, lack of pots/pans, paper towels, etc. in the kitchen. No place to put toiletries in the bathroom. I had to use the toilet seat and back of toilet. Shower has no caddy so soap and shampoo have to go on the floor of the shower. No soap, shampoo or kleenex available either. Luckily I brought my own. However, the shower is beautiful! The main bathroom has two steps down that are a bit tricky during the night since they are not lit and no railing. Spiral staircase to get upstairs is for someone younger. The neighborhood isn't good and the town is very small so nothing much to do, however, that's not why I chose the place. A little too far from Georgetown for me so probably wouldn't choose it again for that reason. It is a lovely place though and very unique.

Girlfriend weekend
Loved staying in an old renovated church. Cool experience! Really wish there was a microwave & larger coffee maker. Glad we read earlier reviews so we could bring our own. Needed some instructions on TV & what channels were actually available. Fall football watching was missed. Some shelves or small cabinets in bathrooms would be super for towels & toiletries.. overall a great place but the above mentioned items would truly make it a Heavenly Hideaway!
