“Fantastic”

We were so happy with the cottages, we wish we had planned to stay longer. There are some lovely cafes nearby and try the Marlborough Hotel for dinner, great ambience, fireplace and lovely for a wine on the verandah whilst the sun is setting.

“Ideal location”

Rusell Cottages offers an ideal base for exploring Bay of Islands. It is close to all facilities. The cottages have everything you need for such a base. Plenty of room. Plenty of furniture for us to 8 people in our cottage if needed. Every conceivable piece of kitchen and dining equipment and plenty of space for food preparation. Lack of fans and air conditioning for the time we were there was a bit of a minus. Replenishment of "welcome" supply of milk for 2-3 day dtayers would have been welcome.

“Town Center”

It was great to find that Russell Cottages was walking distance from everything we needed. We didn't know what to expect on our first visit to Russell Island. It was beautiful. The sunsets spectacular. Our cottage was basically a three bedroom cottage with kitchen, dining, living room, half bath and laundry room on the first floor. Yes I said laundry room. Good value for what we paid. Upstairs they unlocked the number of bedrooms we paid for. There was a nice ensuite bathroom with shower. All the windows provided a nice cross breeze. I could go on but you go and enjoy.

“A holiday home for the price of a motel room”

A holiday home for the price of a motel room. We had a wonderful house to ourselves in a secluded close minutes walk from the waterfront. Suberbly equiped and spotlessly clean. Nice little shared pool in the close. Verandah to sit in the nice weather. Only there two nights but could happily have stayed longer.

“Russell's Best Value”

My wife and I were highly impressed by Russell Cottages. When we entered our cottage, we were immediately impressed by the high quality and cleanliness of it. It seemed a great deal for what we were paying. Each cottage has about 4 bedrooms, but they lock the rooms you aren't using... so, we were getting a lot of living space for the price of one bedroom. The kitchen was large and well supplied with utensils and appliances and there was a very convenient washer/dryer area in there too. The location is also great. You can walk two blocks to the waterfront but are away from any major sources of noise.

We were away for my partner's birthday and Russell Cottages provided the perfect backdrop for a romantic getaway. The luxury of having a full cottage to oneselves, the spa and heated swimming pool, the close proximity to the 'main drag' of Russell all helped to make the stay a memorable one for all of the right reasons!

“Best value for money anywhere”

Value for money (and in such a beautiful spot), the Russell Cottages are the best we have encountered in a fair bit of travel world-wide. Superb describes it perfectly. That's why we extended our visit this time and when we go back to the Bay of Islands, this is where we will stay.

They came for cleaning on request in 3 days stay.When asked for they told that cleaning services are paid but when asked that it has been paid through expedia they did some minimum cleaning on Sunday in our 3 days stay. Initially they told that expedia did not paid for services during booking which seems to be not correct as every hotel or cottage has to maintain the cleaniness or do some minimum services.They need to take some grabage and replace certain amenities which they did only when asked for. Otherwise the condition of rooms and cottage was excellent and it was still good value for money.
