Lovely cottage set up on the hillside away from roads. There was everything we needed for our stay. A very comfortable cottage with lovely views across the countryside. Very handy for us with our golden retrievers visiting the Guisachan Gathering in nearby Tomich

Disgusting cottage- PLEASE STAY AWAY
On arrival the smell on opening the door was disgusting, floors dirty, kitchen filthy, kitchen pots, pans, plates, cutlery absolutely disgusting not been washed, kids bed had blue throws over them that were covered in dog hair and the same room had bugs crawling over the walls, had to clean the place before letting our children in and the next morning we have to leave when my son woke up with ticks that had bitten into his stomach so stays for about 20hours instead of 4 days and the owner doesn’t care and told me if I contact her again I would get reported for harassment. I would give it a zero rating but doesn’t have that option. Please STAY AWAY FROM THIS COTTAGE. Definitely one for environmental health to visit. No refund offered so had to go through my bank

Peaceful and restorative
The cottage is obviously well loved and has a marvellous feel. And location! Furniture is comfortable, kitchen has what you need (and the slow cooker was very handy!) The host was very quick to respond when we had an issue (which was dealt with efficiently and effectively). We would happily stay again!

Nice rural location
Nice property however we could have done with more towels. Two bathroom towels for two adults over five days is a bit mean. Enjoyed two takeaways from Shimla in Beauly. Best Indian food we've ever had!

Wonderful stay in the most unique location. The silence in the evenings was second to none, great walks in the forest (are these old mountain bike tracks?) amazing wildlife (golden eagle spotted) and most interesting historical area. Deli in Beauly was delish!

Country cottage experience
Road leading up to cottage required maintenance such as grass in middle of road poisoning/cut and overhanging trees cut back as they were scratching vehicle . Location is amazing lovely views .cleaning could be a lot more thorough but it was OK. For a house that accepts pets carpets not ideal wooden flooring more hygienic but that's just my opinion. Internal fixings and finishings need tidied up but overall it was a pleasant stay .loads of wildlife seeing red deer each morning and late evening and plenty of birds of prey. My small complaints wouldn't stop me booking this place again .

Idyllic Solitude at Moalnaceap Cottage
Wow! As soon as we got here we instantly chilled. We’d already had week’s stay in beautiful Oban and thought we were pretty relaxed from that but Moalnaceap Cottage took it to another level. The peace, the views, the solitude and even the weather (we got suntans) made this the best holiday we’ve ever had. Beauly is lovely with the friendliest people and service you’ll get anywhere in the world. Really sad to leave; really looking forward to coming back.

Awesome hideaway in peaceful surroundings
Had a lovely week in Moalnaceap cottage, so peaceful and relaxing with awesome views and we were lucky enough to gaze at the milky way and shooting stars the last 3 nights. And our 2 begal cats settled in nicely, loving the real fire to sit in front of.. Fantastic hideaway and close to Beauly which is lovely too with various shops, cafes, pubs and Shimla Indian... Recommend and also Robinson farm shop. Great for walking, bike riding and generally not being at work.. 😊 Great communication with Catriona and highly recommend a stay at the cottage. Any thanks Jo, Charlie, Tarik and Melika. Meow 😻

Stunning scenery & tranquil setting. Lovely old cottage perfect as a base for the surrounding area with fab beaches, lochs & glens to explore. Great place to stay with dogs who were in heaven with walks from the front door. We would have appreciated cleaning materials & spare bedding/towels for a 2 week stay as only 2 Standard towels provided & no hand towels. Otherwise lovely

Charming remote Cottage
We loved staying at the cottage and used it as a base to explore the surrounding areas; Black Isle, dolphin watching at Cromerty and Chanory Point/Rosemarkie beach. Dunrobin Castle and Dornoch beach are only a short drive North. Dunnet Beach is a must, if you go to John o'Groats. Beauly is only a short drive from the cottage and has a petrol station ,restaurants and is pleasant to park up and walk around. Everything that you would need for your stay at the cottage was provided, we ended up buying three packs of logs for our stay of nearly a week. The highlight of our return every evening would be to light the log fire and sit in front of it watching the tv. I never managed so see any stars at night during our stay, there wasn't clear skies at night, but if you are fortunate to have clear skies, I could imagine the sky at night would be stunning, due to the cottages location. The drive up the hill to the cottage is easier if you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle, but not necessary. Would definitely return and would recommend to others.

Perfect getaway
We loved how we felt like we were in the middle of nowhere but also lust a short drive to shops, pubs and local attractions. It was a great, cosy place surrounded by nature. The wildlife did not disappoint either as we saw deer and fawn, bats and a red kite. As four adults we would recommend this home and I think it was perfect for families too.

Amazing scenic getaway
Prior to our arrival, Catriona had answered all our questions promptly. It was easy to find with her instructions and found the unpaved road up to the lodge. The house itself was very clean and comfortable and we were greeted with a welcome basket, which was very thoughtful. All the main items were provided and the wood burning fire place was a bonus. The views were absolutely stunning and the peace and tranquility even more! We are planning to make another trip during winter

Lovely and cosy cottage in a secluded hill top
We had a fantastic few days in late August/early September at this cottage which is nestled up a hill with nice views especially from the dining room. Rooms were cosy and neat. The kitchen is a bit small but has good set of utensils and plates. We loved the fireplace and spent family time around it after day out. Communication with the host was excellent and reassuring when we had asked about access to the property on our low clearance BMW. We just about cleared it at a couple of places but required very careful driving. The welcome drink and cake was a lovely gesture by the host. There was a big sanitiser dispenser at the doorway which in COVID times was a good attempt to keep guests relatively safe. Internet connection and speed was good for the area though we didn't attempt to connect multiple devices at once.

Inverness Hideaway
What impressed us was the peace and quiet and the wonderful view which ever way you looked. Cottage was warm, cosy and very homely, with everything you would need inside. A real "get away from it all" type of place and conveniently based for Highlands exploration. We managed John'O Groats, Fort William and Steam Train to Mallaig as long day trips. Plus Inverness and Lockness are a short drive. Catriona the owner was very helpful when we needed assistance. Recommended
