"Remarkable! Truly a "getaway" vacation!"
Everyone, and I mean everyone, was fantastic! We wanted to get away from the crowds and the lines and the towering resort communities. They treated us like we were special, from the cart waiting for us at the airport, to the boat ride to the cabins, to the margarita waiting for us when we got off the dock, to the fact that they called us by name the whole time, to arranging personalized tours, to the gourmet meals, to the genuine towel artistry of the women who made up the rooms, to the choice of music, to the hugs when we left and the cart ride to the airport again. And when I talked to the people who worked there, so many have been there for years, and the guests had returned year after year. This says a lot to me! Everyone said they enjoyed working there, and that employers were really, really good to work for. I could sense a good sense of ethics and mutual respect between the owners and the staff there, no matter what position they held. These folks deserve the highest marks available! I'd list their names, but I'm sure I'd leave someone out, and I wouldn't want to slight any of them. "Mr. Stuart"

"Good hotel on the beach. Friendly staff."
Enjoyed our stayed. Wonderful experience The staff was wonderful. Only downside is their internet is limited to only the lobby and pool bar areas (no internet in cabanas)...and very slow. The other downside is the resort and guest fee that is charged to everything such as $3.80 for a coke. Seriously? Hint: buy your drinks at the local village!!!

"Beautiful Jungle Resort near Altun Ha"
We stayed a week at Maruba and absolutely loved everything (except the doctor flies, but they couldn't control that). The staff was very attentive, food was amazing, and the owners wet hands-on the entire visit. They made you feel like you were there visiting old friends. We'll definitely be back!

"Caribbean beauty, tranquility, superb food&service"
If you want tranquil excellence, Secreto is your spot. The food was better here than anywhere in San Pedro, and so was the service - by far. I would recommend booking whatever you do through the front desk at Secreto. They are wired in correctly to the local excursions (snorkeling, etc.) and they will get it right for you. My wife loved the french toast for breakfast. I loved the ceviche, and pretty much the entire menu, and the dinner specials were awesome. They have a real chef who cooks to order & does it right & fresh & cares. You will not find better cooking and a staff that is more interested in making sure everything is right for you in Belize. We hit a couple of the better restaurants in San Pedro and they did not hold up to either the food or the staff at Secreto. My wife came back from the trip singing "You betta Belize in Love". That should give you a pretty good idea of how we liked the place. And the drinks at the bar? Forgedddaboudit! Order a Caipirinha or a Rum Runner from Monica (wins bar tending contests) or Freddis and you will thank me later. Monica floats the Rum Runners with Craboo liquor (only available locally) and she is just nice and as sweet as pie. Want anything (the dinner special, a Belikin) delivered to your villa at 9? No worries, just call the front desk. Snorkeling - I would recommend Mexico Rocks over Hol Chan. Mexico Rocks is not near a channel (no current), is very close to El Secreto, and has great marine life. Thanks Lewis! Great Captain.

"A lovely resort for a worry-free vacation"
Sandy Point Resorts helped us choose our transportation option from mainland Belize City to Ambergris Caye. Once we made our selection, they handled the bookings for us and made it simple by adding the charges to our hotel account at Coco Beach. The property is gorgeous with its large swimming pools, white sand pathways and many coconut trees. There are lots of beach loungers around the pools, as well as some hammocks and a couple of beach couches nearer to the shore. Families staying at the Belizean Shores sister resort just two doors down often come over to spend their day at Coco Beach for the fun pool with the water slide so expect it to be a little bit busier during the day. The swim-up bar area is adults only and the water in there is comfortably heated. There isn't a fitness facility here but the resort does offer a complimentary water aerobics class every morning in the fun pool. You can also jog or rent a bike to ride along the beach or on the road behind the property. Coco Beach is partnered with the Tuff E Nuff tour company which is located conveniently at the end of the dock if you wish to book any excursions. The friendly Tuff E Nuff guides are happy to tell you about their tours and answer any questions but despite our numerous visits we were never pressured into anything. We felt right at home during our entire stay.

"Great place to stay!!"
Quite and relaxing location. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the food is excellent. Located right on the river and still close to the international airport (10-15 minutes); they even offer free pick up / drop off. Free canoes / kayaks, and baboon sanctuary is nearby. You might even see a troop of wild baboons (howler monkeys) on the river. We've stayed here the last couple of years and love it. Would like to thank Harold, Beverly, and Omar for a great stay.

Similar to what you may expect from a Belize 5-star resort, these places present full-service spas, which invite you to indulge in a rejuvenating facial or even a massage in the comfort of your room. We also have a selection of resorts that offer recreational activities on site, such as kayaking, windsurfing, and sailing tours.

Take advantage of our cheap deals on resorts and hotels in Belize. We know you want to spend more on your itinerary and less on the price of your lodging, so choose your perfect match here today.

Best and Worst Times to Visit Belize

If you’re in search of warm temperatures and clear skies, plan a visit to Belize between November and May. This is the country’s dry season when you can expect 80-degree F weather. But because it’s the perfect season to head to the beach, the majority of tourists visit during this time.

Hurricane season lasts from June to October. Even if a hurricane doesn’t hit the coast, this period is considered Belize’s rainy season, especially from August to October. Temperatures usually linger around 70 and 80 degrees F during this wet season. If you don’t mind a chance of showers, you’ll score cheaper rates during these months.

    Things to Do

During your visit, soak up the sunshine and balmy temperatures at one of the many beaches in Belize. For serene shores lined with palm trees, make your way to the pristine coast along Placencia Peninsula, or lounge on the shores of Hopkins Beach. Next, grab your flippers and dive into the water at Caye Caulker, which boasts unrivaled snorkeling and scuba diving turf. Ambergris Caye and Blue Hole are two other popular dive spots with barrier reefs teeming with sea life.

In addition to its picturesque landscapes, Belize is home to a number of ancient Mayan ruins. Visit these sites to uncover the nation’s past and Mayan culture. Begin your adventures at Xunantunich, which features more than 25 palaces and temples, and then check out the scenic views from the structures at Cahal Pech. Don’t miss Lamanai, which is one of the largest Maya ceremonial spots, and then marvel at the remains at Barton Creek Cave. After exploring all day long, kick back at one of the best Belize resorts in town.

    About Resorts

The beauty of staying at a resort is that you have everything you want and need right at your fingertips. Resorts generally provide the usual hotel amenities, such as fitness rooms, business centers, and Wi-Fi access, but many of them offer additional services, too.

Here at Expedia.com, you’ll come across a variety of resorts that feature multiple restaurants, various pool areas, and on-site activities. Some of these resorts include nightclubs and golf courses, while others boast spa services and game rooms. To top it all off, you may even find an assortment of all-inclusive resorts. This type of lodging bundles your meals and activities into the price of the room. All inclusives sometimes offer nightly entertainment, all-you-can buffets, and watersport rentals at no additional charge. Sort through our vast selection of lodging to find a resort matching all your vacation desires.

    Geography

Belize is located in Central America, northeast of Guatemala and south of Mexico. Bordered by the Caribbean Sea, the country includes a number of islands and cays to the east. Belize’s terrain includes jungles, beaches, and mountains.

Begin your adventures as soon as you book cheap flights to Belize right here. With Expedia.com, you can reserve your airfare and resorts without breaking your budget. What’s more, you can bundle your vacation package to score some of the best deals around.
