Thank you Holli for such high praise! We've worked hard to create an atmosphere where guests can relax, but we're also close to the action in town. Our clean and comfortable rooms were constructed in the 1920's as lodging for the miners, so they're more like apartments than traditional hotel rooms. We hope you can join us again soon for anther fun getaway.

Hello Sheila! Thank you for your comments. We alway strive to make our guests as comfortable as possible, but it sounds like your needs were not met. I'm sorry about that. Had you shared your concerns we would have been happy to try to adapt the furnishings to your needs, raising the standard size couch up with wood blocks, for example, to make it easier for you to rise from. Not sure about the seating though. There is seating in that unit for 8 people, including the comfortable couch that seats 3. However, if the two of you needed more places to sit we would have been happy to bring in more chairs. Your description of the bedroom seems off. The queen bed can be walked around on both sides, and the space in the center, between the beds is large enough for a wheel chair. Unfortunately, we have no way to expand the size of the rooms, so we would have had to remove furniture to give you the expansive space you apparently expected, a request that most hotels cannot fulfill. This does not mean we would not work to adapt the room to your needs, if we can. Another option is to view some of the other rooms here at the Mile High Ranch, perhaps finding a better fit for you. Each room is unique, and some are larger than others. One way or the other we will always try our best to make you a long term guest by providing you with the service and comfort you expect and deserve. Please give us a call when your travels next bring you to Bisbee. We'll be ready to help you find the perfect accommodations for your next visit.

We have learned from our time here that small pebbles and dirt are usually brought in on the treads of shoes. The window screens would not allow particles of a size big enough to be felt underfoot to enter guest rooms, and we throughly clean all parts of the rooms, including vacuuming the floors, after every stay. But if there is something else going on that we can address we'd like to know about it. Please write to us when you have the chance and provide your room number (we can't find your name in our records) and any other details that may prove helpful. As for the spider web, they work fast! Even when cleaned in the morning, a normal spider can weave a web in the few hours between cleaning and the next check-in. If you let us know, we can certainly take care of removing it.Thank you again for sharing. The comfort and safety of our guests is our highest priority.

Thank you fro your review. Unit 3 (your room) is one of our Suites that were originally built as housing for the miners. As such, they resemble small apartments with living rooms, kitchens, bedrooms, and of course baths. Compared to the standard hotel room, these offer the extra elbow room that guests like you appreciate. Combine that with the complimentary cookies, free parking, free electric car charging stations, the large property and our hospitality and you've got a wining combination. Hi Heather! Thanks for your comments about the room. We agree that the rooms are comfortable. The Ranch is within the Historic District. It's located at the upper end of the canyon, and the downtown area is at the lower end, about 1 mile apart. At an average walking speed of 3 miles per hour the time to walk there is about 20 minutes, and there are golf cart shuttles to bring you back and forth if you need them. The only comment that we do not understand is the assertion that the photos of the property on our website are deceptive. I can assure you that they are all genuine. Perhaps it's because you are not aware that there is a difference between pictures taken in the summer when everything is green and blooming, and the middle of winter when everything is brown and the leaves are all missing from the trees? That difference is not deceptive. It's timing. But even in the winter our guests say how much they enjoy the peaceful nature of the property and the activities it affords. We invite you to return in the summer when the leaves have returned, the flowers are blooming and the grass is green. You may find that time of year more to your liking. We're so sorry this happened and hope she is better now. No one should experience that, but as you know, we are located in the desert and, unfortunately, scorpions are quite common here. We take recommended steps to keep them outdoors, including regular spraying, but no one can guarantee that one will never find its way in. Despite our preventive measures, one can make its way in through such actions as leaving a door open or sneaking a ride in a suitcase or bag. As you noted, you yourself were recently stung by a scorpion in your own home. As we're sure is true with you, we do everything we can to make sure this happens rarely if ever. Again, we apologize for this negative experience and empathize fully with your reaction. Thank you.

I am thrilled to hear you had such a lovely stay with us. Bisbee is a small town with a big heart, welcoming anyone who stops in. Your comment about the businesses has a lot of truth to it. Overall there's a lot here to keep you busy, but as virtually all businesses are privately owned, the hours CAN vary, and many are closed on some weekdays. (I liken it to my experience in Hawaii where even the post office can close early if the surf's up.) But generally things are open during the posted hours, there's a lot to pick from, and, of course, we are happy to assist you with selecting restaurants, local attractions, or shopping options during your visit.
