Perfect location
This location was ideal. It was secluded enough that we had privacy but were just minutes away from town and other attractions. The grounds and view are beautiful. The host’s suggestions on restaurants etc was incredibly helpful as we were new to this are. We loved our stay.

We enjoyed our stay. It was very nice to be so close to Black Mountain, one of our favorite towns. The hot tub was nice, but might want to check the chemical levels. Just a few minutes in and we were both itching, maybe the chlorine was too high. It's probably time to upgrade the couch and chair in the living room area. The leather or vinyl is peeling and the support system is sinking a bit. The place also really needs a deep clean. We have 3 pets ourselves, which we did not bring with us, so we are used to pet hair. Since this place is pet friendly, it really needs to periodically have some deep cleaning of pet hair. There was quite a bit of it under the bed, carpet, lamp shades, etc ... The queen bed's box spring, where the mattress meets the wall, was in need of cleaning. It would probably be best to remove the mattress to ensure complete cleaning.

Cozy hideaway
Very compact and comfortable cottage for my hubby and I and our dog. Private but not remote. Great view from hot tub porch. Easy access to Black Mountain and Asheville. Bed was comfortable. Pillows were a little flat. We did not cook but the cottage looked well stocked. It is nice that coffee filters, paper towels, etc are supplied. This is our second time renting from the Rodell’s. Would recommend.

Just as described. Cute Mountain Getaway.
The check-in process was seamless. Pictures and description of property were as advertised. Perfect location to explore Black Mountain. Within 5 minutes via car of downtown Black Mountain but the home itself is still secluded enough you feel like you are far away. Nice mountain views, quiet, peaceful, and clean. We were very appreciative of the restaurant recommendations from the hosts and ate at Ole's one night and Fresh Saturday night, and the food and ambience was wonderful! I only had a few "cons" if you could call them that. The gas logs were not working. Tried the remote several times to turn them on and I believe the battery was dead in the remote. Since it wasn't dead of winter it wasn't too bad but it would have been nice to use the gas logs. My only other small issue is a warning to potential guests with animal allergies. This property does allow pets so if you have any type of allergy come prepared with your medicine. The house was clean and I didn't see any pet fur around the house. My only allergy issue was I was not able to sit on the couch or chair without my allergies severely kicking in. I would recommend the hosts deep clean the couch and chair and get all the pet fur and dander out more frequently than their routine cleaning schedule. Other than those two minor "complaints" we had a wonderful time and will definitely book again in the future! Thank you!

Awesome Black Mountain Trip
Super close to highway and easy drive in and out to Ashville. Everything at house had great directions for use ie heat/ac, tv, hot tub, etc. Host is on their A game for having folks have an issue free stay!! Thank you so much and definitely recommend your place to others.

Quiet couple’s getaway
My husband and I stayed here for the second time. Love the location. It is very close to downtown Black Mountain and a grocery store. Cabin is super cozy and the hot tub is a plus. Communication with owner is top notch.

Great place, excellent location!
This is our new favorite spot in the mountains. My husband, myself and our dog had a fabulous long weekend stay here. We loved the porch and the gas-powered fireplace. The location was amazing. It's a very private setting, but only a couple of minutes to the main road to town. Great wi-fi connection (which is not a given in the mountains) and very comfortable couches and beds. Overall, an excellent place. We will come here again.

We had so much fun here! It’s a beautiful cabin that feels like it’s in the middle of nowhere but is only a short drive to the lovely town of Black Mountain. It had everything we needed and the hot tub was amazing! I hope to return someday soon.

Cozy with a view
We loved staying at this cabin and will definitely return. It's a short, easy drive to downtown Black Mountain but we loved hanging out on the porch with the view. We went into town to eat and to Montreat for several short hikes but always wanted to return to the porch! There was a flexible metal gate that we were able to use to block the stairs on the porch so we could hang out with our Golden Retriever without keeping her on a leash. It was the perfect setting for a getaway weekend. We would definitely recommend this rental.

Perfect cabin for a weekend getaway. Lots of windows, ceiling fans, wifi, and a hot tub. Very close to Black Mountain and Montreat. We really enjoyed the rocking chairs on the deck - ideal place for that first cup of coffee in the morning.

We stayed with our dog for a long weekend and the property was perfect. We enjoyed looking at the stars from the hot tub and even saw 2 bears in the field nearby as we were leaving this morning. The cabin had everything we needed.

Thank you so much to Donna & Gerry for this beautiful, well appointed cabin. My best friend and I so enjoyed our stay in Black Mountain. We were able to try some of your recommendations and I was able to get a bucket list hike done. The cabin is cozy, clean and close to town but feels miles away. A perfect place to stay.

Feels like a hideaway - close to EVERYTHING
I love this cabin. I've stayed here before with friends and their 1 year old, and it was just as perfect on this trip with just my partner and our dog. The cabin has so much character, but it also doesn't feel like a place where you have to tip toe around. We encountered a but of heat on our first day, and Gerald called me to let me know some tips and tricks about the AC and to direct me to a box fan. The cabin is lovely, and you can spend a whole day out on the porch reading and sitting in the hot tub. You can also get to the grocery in 5 minutes and downtown Black Mountain (with tooooonss of amazing restaurants and shopping in 8 minutes). If you feel adventurous, you can be in Asheville or on the Blue Ridge Parkway in 20 minutes. This was my 2nd time here, but I am already excited for my next stay.

Great "secluded" property close to everything.
Overall a wonderful, clean property. Would stay there again. Very pet friendly. The bathroom sink was slow to drain, and it would have been nice to have shower gel or soap and shampoo and conditioner provided, but a store was close.

Cozy mtn. retreat with good views of black mountain and a awesome hot tub and really all the amenities one needs for a relaxing getaway. The master bedroom is not as private as I would have liked since we had the teenage kids with us but had the best views. Very convenient location and easy to get to and just a 20 min drive to downtown Asheville where we had dinner most nights. Very charming area and felt safe.

Amazing weekend!
We had a blast exploring Black Mountain and this cabin was an excellent find. It feels very secluded yet it’s only a 5 min drive to the “downtown” area. Very cozy and the beds / couches were super comfortable. The fire pit is perfect, it’s right outside the back patio where the grill and hot tub is located. We will def use this house again the next time we come to Black Mountain!

Quaint mountain retreat
I stayed here with my husband and our infant son for two nights and two days. It was just enough space for our family. It is a quaint mountain cabin with comfortable beds and couch/sitting chair. The cabin wasn’t kid proofed but we didn’t expect it to be. It has everything we needed. There was a small TV with satellite and Roku plug in that let us watch March madness. There was one drawer in the fridge that was dirty, an a Pepsi and dirty sock under the bed which were likely an oversight from the cleaning staff. I’d describe the cabin as clean but in need of a deep cleaning. We would definitely stay here again. The views of the mountains from the living room are gorgeous and the owner was welcoming and responsive.

Love this property
My family has a long history in Asheville, Swannanoa, and Black Mountain and we have selected this rental in central Black Mountain for the past few years. It is a very cute rental, close to a lot of restaurants, breweries, and shops. Gerry, the owner, is a wonderful host. We experienced a few hiccups during our last visit but Gerry did an amazing job helping us through the issues. We love this rental and will definitely return.

Fun getaway for Christmas
Fun cabin, sized for two. We enjoyed the hot tub and built some nice fires in the fire pit. The owners were helpful with communication prior to our visit as well. Grocery store is at the bottom of the hill and very convenient. Be sure to eat at Que Sera / Tayloes Oyster Bar. Fantastic. Also Foothills Grange has amazing burgers and drinks. Be sure to grab lunch at Veranda and tell Ray the folks who chatted with him Christmas week about his home. To those who follow us, enjoy your stay

Perfectly cozy cabin
This cozy little place has everything you need for a relaxing getaway. We cooked a few meals and used the outdoor grill. The fireplace and hot tub were so inviting and the couch was super comfortable. The check in and out procedure was effortless and we especially liked not having to do any of the cleaning ourselves upon departure. We loved the location which was private but also close to shops and restaurants. If we ever are in the area again we will make plans to stay again.

The view, hot tub, and fire were great! Thankful they had a satellite dish so we could watch college football. This was a comfy little cabin. We would have appreciated a few extra towels in the bathroom! Coffee included would be an extra plus.
