"First, keep in mind: English speakers are rare in Recife. The hotel is decent but not exceptional; however, stained bed sheets were a letdown. Remember, in Brazil, toilet paper can't be flushed. Breakfast at the restaurant is average, but steer clear of the flavorless juices. Room service food was disappointing too! The grilled chicken was dry, making it hard to chew. It's unbelievable I paid over $20.00 US dollars for that! Also, they lack a serving cart, so they handed me the plate on a tray...

"Our stay at Marante Plaza was very enjoyable. The staff went out of their way to make us feel at home and the location was fantastic with the wonderful Praia Boa Vista right across the street. Many very good restaurants within a short walk. We will return!"

"I started my stay having to carry my suitcase up two stairs because both elevators were not working. My television did not work properly.I could not make outgoing calls anywhere from the hotel, phone was just for talking to desk clerk . of the seven days I stayed there only once did tee maid clean my room and even then all she did was made my bed not even changing my sheets .the coffee at breakfast was horrible my coffee back in the US is better then the coffee they were serving."
