Convenient pleasant hotel

Pros: Staff, breakfast buffet, spacious room.
The hotel is conveniently located on a main road that will take you north or south depending on what you need to do. The staff is superb! Extremely friendly, helpful and very attentive to every need. Unfortunately I forgot the name of the person, but this young man was particularly helpful and kind to us; he spoke perfect English (grew up in Florida) and he made sure we were as comfortable as if we were at home, offered us coffee and water every time we came back from running around the city, carried our shopping bags, even made sure room service delivered our orders! Breakfast buffet is great, fresh fruit, a chef station for the eggs, bread assortment is varied, from local arepas to English toast. The restaurant has good food, fresh and tasty. Rooms are very spacious (junior suite), and have a kitchen. Bathroom is small, but great rain shower head! The door to the terrace is somewhat difficult to open and close but that is minor. This is the second time staying there and will go there again.

Despite it says "wheelchair Accessible" it needs to improve on its accessibility needs. Bathrooms specially needs to have a makeover on actually having wheelchairs and don't have enough space. Overall, it need some improvements to accommodate and comply with ADA regulations, is doable and my stay at the facility was somehow satisfactory. Will stay again some other time soon! People and staff in general made my stay comfortable and they were great in all aspects to help me and assist me in anyway they could. I will definitely will come back to stay at Lancaster House again!

Thank you for your comments. We do appreciate them as they allow us to improve our service. We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us and do hope to welcome you again. Regarding accessibility we will look on ways to improve, but know that ADA is American Disabilities Act a US governmental agency which does not have implications abroad. We do comply with Colombian requirements for people with disabilities. None the less we will look into ADA compliance requirements and see what can be done.

Nice hotel. Disorganized management.

Pros: Basic staff. Overall cleanliness
Cons: Management and better trained front desk staff
Location: Location is on a major thoroughfare and was at times very noisy. There are few amenities near by
Service from staff. Doorman, restaurant servers, cleaning people. Exceptional! Front desk staff was clearly disorganized. At checkout they could not find my credit card voucher and requested a second signed voucher. Also wanted to add invalid charges. Since I did not do a second voucher, they would not provide a final bill.

This is clearly NOT a 4-star property. I also stayed at the Hilton Bogota, and there was no comparison between the two. The Hilton is far superior in all categories, including the TV where there are more English-speaking channels, including FOX News.

Different travelers value different things. We understand some may prefer chain hotels. Most of our guests choose us because they are the type of travelers who prefer to be in a small an cozy home away from home with an eager to please staff.

Spacious suites off of the Transmilenio station

The Lancaster Hotel is far from the old city but can be easily reached by the Transmilenio bus system (about 30-45 mins). It is off of a major street but in a safe area. The hotel staff were extremely friendly, buffet breakfast extensive and the suite was spacious and clean. Not many restaurants nearby but a few choices available within walking distance. Overall it was a very nice hotel and would be recommended to others.

Great first stop

Quiet, excellent service from staff. They seem to host alot of "Events" so the lobby is full of people not staying at the hotel. This impacted the privacy factor Room service and food are poor

Very nice hotel, suites are spacious

My suite had a kitchen, living room and bedroom. The bedroom had a dvd player and home theatre system. The room was furnished nice and the staff helpful. Breakfast had a good variety. I would stay here again if I got another good price. I feel that it is a solid 4 star hotel.

Hotel is old and tiring, good location though, rooms have a smell and behind bathroom doors you can always find hairs and stuff sticking on the wall.... The doorman was very very helpful, however there's an inadequate amount of people at the front desk, sometime it takes more than 30 mins to get a taxi, and we paid the full amount through booking site, however upon check out we had to pay a "Securidad Hotelera" or something(weird to think about your have pay for your "safety" staying at a hotel?!) I have stayed in some hotels in Colombia who asks the same fee but it's voluntary, this hotel didn't inform us nor explain what does it mean for such a fee.... I wouldn't stay there and it's not worth the money.
