The hotel is within a building so initially I didn’t see it. At nighttime there is a bar downstairs and people drinking on the sidewalk which was confronting when I needed to unlock the entrance door. The breakfast range was very good and I enjoyed Netflix.

Checkin instructions not provided via email in a timely manner. Did not have the app to converse with their checkin person, so limited communication. Chose to walk to the property during their very limited checkin times, but did find an helpful person for checkin. Clean room and in room continental breakfast provided. Shower head needs adjustment.

The room was perfect for a family of four. The staff was exceptional and easy to communicate with along with great guidance for exploring and dining. The room was meticulous and breakfast amenities were very nice.

Valentina was very helpful with her messages and directions. We had an unexpected late check in due to trains trikes which she accommodated. Keys were left on the table. Door was opened. Thanks very much.

This little property was so cute but a little tricky to find. At first glance it appeared to be on a street with few options for dining etc but after exploring, we realized that there were lots of great dining options a couple of blocks away. Our host was so kind and helpful in booking us a taxi for our return to the train station. It was quick but fun visit.

Steam House is clean and roomy. It is a great location and very close to many restaurants. The staffs are helpful and friendly. I would stay here again. We love the decor.

One night in Bologna
Super find, beautiful large room recently modernised with ornate ceiling. The proprietor has paid so much attention to detail from the decor to the breakfast bar left in your room for the morning. Lovely selection of cold meat, cheese, granola & biscuit bars & yogurts & juices. Even UHF milk to use with the Nespresso frother or with cereal. Great neighbourhood location right in the heart of a heaving student population with many packed bars & restaurants. The windows are sound proof & AC mean a quiet nights sleep is guaranteed. Couldn’t recommend this place more. Excellent!

Fantastic place even better value for money
Steam House is an unassuming bed and breakfast with impeccable hospitality. It sometimes feels like a private room in an AirBnb, which isn’t a bad thing, but it can be too intimate for some. The room and private bathroom is incredibly clean and stylised to perfection. Every detail was considered. From the slippers, to the towels, to the lampshade. Breakfast in the room was a nice touch and gave us snacks to use in the day. The hosts were kind and hospitable. They went above and beyond. The location was great for being between the train station and the centre, highly recommend. The price was fantastic all things considered. We would come back again.

Best place I stayed in Italy.
Amazing living room and bedroom. Loved the breakfast station that came with a variety of snacks and a mini fridge with complementary yogurt, water, juice and even a meat/cheese board. Impressed with the milk frother for making cappuccinos. I liked the location. It was convenient to walk to attractions and there were a couple cool bars right next to the hotel. I liked that there was night life so close to the hotel so I could easily get to my room afterwards, the crowd of people made it feel safe at night, and I could not hear any noise once inside the room. Price for the room was great

Lovely, lovely, lovely! The hotel was clean! When I saw the crowd outside I was afraid it would be loud late into the night but the room was sound proof! The entire experience from start to finish was excellent!

Brilliant place to stay
We were delighted with our room at the Steam House. Our prior emails concerning a change of arrival time were quickly answered. We had a very nice welcome from Valentina who was also helpful with info on restaurants and where to buy an adapter plug that we had forgotten. It was good to be able to eat breakfast in our room at what ever time suited and the choice of food provided was excellent. It is in a great place for exploring the city with sights, restaurants and bars on the doorstep. We would certainly stay here again.

What seemed like a quiet street during the day turned into a bar filled street in the evening. The windows on our suite were excellent so when we closed them at night to go to sleep it was very quiet and the street noise didn't bother us at all. Really liked having our breakfast supplies and table in our room so we could enjoy at our leisure and not have to get up to eat at a certain time. Great location and close to shopping and a wide variety of restaurants/cafes for every budget. I would definitely stay at this B&B again.

Don’t judge this book by it’s cover! Behind a lively student pub that there is hidden a historic building with wonderful, clean and quiet tourist apartments. Owner and operated by young women entrepreneurs, Valentina and Erica provide a comfortable and well appointed traveler experience at a moderate price. The complementary breakfast of yogurt, cereal, cheese, etc. and coffee is provided in the room in a well stocked pantry. Check in, checkout and luggage storage are a breeze but you will need to phone them for building access as there is no “front desk.”

We had a huge room perfect for a family with 2 teenagers. Hotel is no frills but has everything you need and is very cool. Several good restaurants on the street. It is located right above an outdoor bar but you cannot hear it with windows closed. Room was very clean and we liked the convenient breakfast set up in the room itself.

I paid over 100 euro for one night. It was not worth it. The room looked like the photos. The building is very old located in a street full of bars and restaurants. You hear them during the night. You hear your neighbors guests also. My bed was not clean that I found lots of hair throughout the bed. I at the end put a bath tower on my bed to sleep. It’s just disgusting. Folks, I really don’t recommend you to stay in this hotel. I was misled by the high rate. The hotel is totally overrated. Don’t get yourself into trap.

Excellent location where you can walk to almost everywhere, and it is near the University: great neighborhood to eat and drink and to walk to the major attractions. Very helpful staff and large, clean room.

Great Place - Steampunk
Bologna is a great place for food and wine. The hotel is close to the train station (1.2km) and a short walk to all the attractions in the old town area. Being a town with a big university there were a couple of local bars that seemed to party on late, but we didn’t hear a thing in our room. The room was very modern in a steampunk style, but not over done. Great amenities, with everything you could want. The breakfast supplied in your room was very good and certainly covered off most items. The staff at check in were very helpful and provided all the information we needed. Special mention to Jimmy.

We stayed here for 2 nights, it was out best stay on our 10 day trip. The room was well designed and well thought out. Clean, simple design and colours, great attention to paintwork, high-quality reclaimed furniture, it was stylish and quirky. The bathroom was great, clean and well thought out. Very large sink. Hygiene labels on toilet. Some small shampoos and soap, as well as a hairdryer, and towels. The shower had plenty of pressure and space. It was a pleasure to use. The fridge was stocked with juice, water, and yoghurts. These were all free and replenished daily. Breakfast baskets are provided to you ready for the morning so that you’re not disturbed. Bread, granola, some biscuits, and a ham and cheese platter, and some milk. The tea facilities were great! The tea facilities are important to me. There was also a coffee machine. TV was large, modern, and of a good brand. The speed of the internet plus a good TV meant we could have a night in and stream Netflix easily. On the whole, I wish I could take that room and bring it home with me. It can get busy with students and a few bars outside, but don’t let this worry you. It’s very silent in the room. The girl we met that checked us in initially was lovely. She called a restaurant for us on request to book a table. On leaving Bologna, we walked passed her on our way to the station. She recognised us and stopped and asked how we found it. It was a sweet end to our stay that made us feel cared about as customers.
