Cabin on the pond
My husband and I greatly enjoyed staying at the Mountain Laurel Cabin. It is in a beautiful quiet location yet it is just minutes to town. This part of the vacation was very relaxing. I would recommend the cabin and stay in it again if we get back to this part of the country.

Perfect Getaway
We loved the property's location away from the city noise and replaced by the sounds of the wind and birds. The cabin was easy to access and close to everything we wanted to see. The house was comfortable and cozy. My favorite was sitting on the deck overlooking the pond. Meeting the local artists was a highlight of our trip and learning about the history of the area. The John C. Campbell Folk School is a must-see plus Rob at Smoke in the Mountain Pottery. The communication with Jeannine was easy. I highly recommend Mountain Laurel Cabin for your next vacation.

The pictures of house don’t do it Justice, and the property is beautiful! So much room and nature. Very secluded. The amenities were well thought out and was a perfect weekend getaway. We will be visiting again!

Clean! Gorgeous! So Fun! Private! The most comfortable bedding! The pond was wonderful to sit by and the fireplace and fire pit were perfect on chilled evenings. We will definitely be back!!!!

What a precious cabin! It was perfect for a weekend getaway in the mountains. The property is beautiful and it was so nice being in the woods. Murphy was a quick drive so it was the best of both worlds. 100% recommend this lovely cabin for your next stay!

Amazing Cabin

Stephanie, I know Jeannine has communicated with you a couple times via Text and VRBO has emailed you and sent you a couple emails for you to pay the Unpaid Balance that was due January 1/10/24 that amount is $192.98 It would appear that you are simply going to stiff us for the money on this and this is very disappointing as we provided you full access to our Cabin, valued for the weekend with the pond valued at well over $400k - - you were excellent guest and we would have welcomed you back – however as you have chosen to not pay us in full we ask that you find other lodging in the future. Just so you know, Our Cleaning staff is paid the full $125 cleaning fee, and after VRBO gets their portion from the payments we ended up with only $74 out of the deal – so Yes, we are very disappointed that you would take advantage of us in this Manner. AS A RESULT OF YOUR NON-PAYMENT YOU WILL BE FLAGGED FOR ANY FUTURE BOOKING ACROSS THE PLATFORM AND THE FLAGGING WILL ALSO BE SHARED WITH OTHER HOSTING SITES, ACTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES.

Wonderful birthday trip!
I booked this trip for my mom and stepdad for their birthday gift. The cabin was perfect for them and their 2 fur babies. They said everything was so clean and the location was private and beautiful. The cabin was well stocked with everything they needed. They definitely want to return and who knows…if I get a few days to spare, I will go too!

A Beautiful Cabin!
My wife and I decided to get away for a week, now that we are empty nesters after 27 years. We couldn’t have selected a more wonderful place. Everything about our stay was phenomenal - the cabin, the pond, and the surrounding area. The cabin was decorated so nicely … we actually took photos to do some similar things at our own house. We fished two of the three days we were there and hooked a few bass and bluegill. We spent lots of time exploring nearby Murphy and all it had to offer. We were hoping for a relaxing week and got every bit of that. Thanks to Jeannine and John for all of their hospitality.

Mountain Laurel Cabin was even better than expected. The home was beautiful and immaculate. We stayed for 8 days and had everything we needed to relax, cook meals, toast marshmallows by the fire, etc. They even provided a dog crate so we didn’t have to pack ours for our pup to sleep in. We absolutely loved our stay. We were close enough to grocery, activities, and even doggy daycare yet felt secluded (in a good way). We went on scenic drives, visited museums, and just chilled. We can’t wait to go back.

I cant say enough good things about this property. Fishing pond was fun for my teen son and its so secluded you could stay there and never hear or see another person yet can drive to town in minutes. Will be back for sure

Very secluded if you want to get away from it all. Very clean with comfortable furniture. Screened porch takes care of rainy days. Fire pit great for cool nights. Fishing just a short walk down a slope for free entertainment. Thank you very much for an awesome trip.

This property was actually better than pictured. My friend and I were elderly yet everything was just right for us. Fishing was beyond great and even though we didn't catch the big ones (and we saw monster bass) we did catch a lot of bass and bluegills. We had easy access to the casino and even brought home more than we took with us. Next time we take the wives. Would tell anyone that this is the one to stay in for quiet and relaxation. Hosts were very responsive when tree fell over the road and cleared our way quickly. Thank you to our hosts.

We were attending classes at John C Campbell Folk School. The location of cabin to school was great. The cabin was surrounded by blooming moutain laurel when we arrived. It was very pretty. Cabin name is approriate. We enjoyed the screened in porch and playing horse shoes. Wish we had more time there. We would have used fire pit. Lovely place, hope to come back in future.

This was a healing trip after a very difficult time in my life. I came with my neighbor/friend Joni, and we did all the things! Fire Creek Falls was the highlight of our adventures. Cute town with very friendly people. I am planing to return once a year. We fell in love with this place!

We have stayed in many cabins in North Georgia and NC. This one was the best. Clean, beautiful, relaxing, comfortable. We loved the pond and fire pit. I caught and released five large catfish, although I think one was the same stupid fish. Gorgeous colors in October.

Perfect spot for quiet respite to recharge. Wonderful cabin full of thoughtful amenities sitting on picturesque property. Loved having a pond on the property with fishing that provided hours of enjoyment. Spending time in October provided an amazing backdrop to enjoy the autumn colors. Adorable Private Cabin
This adorable cabin is situated in a very private and beautiful forest. The hosts have put a lot of themselves into the decor and comfort of one of our favorite rental homes. It was hard to leave after our two week stay- one week at the JOHN C. CAMPBELL FOLK SCHOOL and one week to enjoy the quiet setting with a fire in the a.m. and p.m. and "doing nothing." It is very well appointed, comfortable beds and the cozy gas fire. Our small pups enjoyed their walks all over the property with gentle hills around the cabin for our walks. You'll love it!

Secluded cabin
This very clean, very private, well-built cabin has everything we needed. The pond is beautiful, and is home to plenty of healthy largemouth bass. There are nice walks right outside the door, including a steep hike to the Mission Dam on the Hiawassee. Our Boykin Spaniel loved wandering the property too.
