“Very good place and very convenient to the city.”

This hotel was very convenient to the places my wife and I had to go for brief business ventures. It is in the heart of the southbank area of Brisbane, which has very nice restaurants and night life. A new convention center is going up next door, which temporarily closes one sidewalk. But I am sure its completion will make this an even better and more convenient place to stay.

“Great Area”

The South Bank Area is much quieter than the busy downtown area in Brisbane, but just a 15 minute walk to the city sights.

“Everything as I hoped”

The hotel is in a great location, walking distance to the museums and the city. The staff is particularly helpful and pleasant.

“Much greater uality than expected from a 3-Star Hotel”

Very friendly and helpful staff even at 3:30 AM. Cleanliness, room size and comfort are equivalent to at least a 4-Star Hotel. Only downfall for this hotel is that there is no pool although there is a man-made beach nearby. Good hotel choice for a family vacation!

The river view 1 bedroom suite was great. Terrific view and set up.

valet parking is a bit expensive, otherwise it's a good choice, located in a quiet south bank and walking access to all culture stuffs. high quality of staying!

“Dangerous bathrooms!”

The bath room was weird. The wash basin is situated exactly 3 feet above the floor. You need to bend like crazy when you want to wash face/ shave or simply wash hands. The hairdryer is right next to the wash basin at the same height. If you have a hyperactive kid staying with you, God help the hotel and the city of Brisbane! If he plugs the hairdryer and dips in the water in the wash basin....the thought is scary. I really wonder how the city health and safety department cleared this one! I would not recommend this hotel to any of my friends just for this reason.

“Average experience”

There are many good mid- level hotels in Brisbane. The Rydges was not anything particular or remarkable, good or bad.
