Lovely Spanish retreat.
We stayed for two weeks in September. What a lovely place to stay. Both Montse (the owner) and the neighbours are lovely people. Oto is a very quiet village :-). Broto, next village, only a mile away has everything we needed. Small supermarket, butcher, baker, bars and I've no doubt there is a candlestick maker somewhere about. Second time we've been here and still loads for us to explore. WE'LL BE BACK.

a lovely artistic nest
Montse and her husband had put much thought into the apartment, to create a homey and artistic environment. It had everything we needed for our short stay, including a "cave" for listening to music. Montse went out of her way to be helpful.

A friendly place to stay
Our hosts were very welcoming and helpful . The terrace is a lovely place to enjoy a meal. The apartment is quite small, especially the bedroom, and a bit dark (lots of lights though) but has everything you need for a comfortable stay and has been beautifully converted from its one time use as an animal shelter. Pedro provided us with a useful local map and walk ideas.

AWESOME LOCATION AND HOSTS
This was one of the most beautiful places, both the home and the area around that I have ever stayed in. The hosts were wonderful and gave us amazing tips of where to go and hike. They tailored it to what we wanted and we had such a wonderful time. The musical sound of the birds and the bells on the cows tinkling outside our place is something I still miss. The tranquility of the area and this home made for a romantic and restful time.

Authentic village life experience with exceptionally gracious hosts.
We value authenticity and quiet, and found this apartment and its hosts simply delightful. It was a very memorable stay for us. Every aspect of the space is unique, having been adapted from its original purpose as corral space for cows. Time seems suspended and one can experience authentic village life, away from the bustle of Broto and Torla. Most importantly, Montse & Pedro welcome their guests into their lives, offering friendship, good advice on hiking, and even the fruits of the earth from their own garden. Although our Spanish is limited, we enjoyed a blissful evening on the patio with our hosts and another international couple who were in the adjoining apartment, discussing various aspects of life over a bottle of local wine. There is some noise from a youth camp below Oto, but it is mostly exuberant cheers, and with the windows closed tight, we slept very well. We hiked every day and retreated behind the apartment's thick stone walls for siesta. We cooked most of our own meals and found the kitchen sufficient. Broto offers a good grocery for fresh meats, produce & bread. Get good driving directions to the apartment from Montse before heading into the narrow lanes of the village.

Superbe séjour qu'on aurait même aimé allonger !
