“Room not ready!”
We arrived an hour early at this hotel and were surprised that our room was ready, however when we got to our room it was most definitely not ready, it had not been cleaned, dirty towels on the floor and the bed obviously slept in and a mess.
We left our bags and went back down to reception, we said that we were going to go straight out and get some food and would be back in two hours, and would be happy for the room to be cleaned in our absence! Reception promised this would be done! We went for our lunch, but i was unwell so we returned after 2 1/2 hours and again went to our room which had still not been cleaned, on route to reception we noticed the cleaner and stopped him, he apologised that it had not been done and suggested we went back to reception, he telephoned reception, and said he would clean room now, he would be half an hour!
We went back to reception, as it was busy we decided to have a drink at the bar,,,,,waited 10 mins and no one came to serve us, by this time i was feeling more unwell so we went to sit outside for ten minutes, after which we came went back to the bar, still no service and eventually my wife went back to reception, and they said oh your room is ready now!
Later that evening we noticed the 15 minute rule card , any problem not solved in 15 mins, and we would be the hotels guest! When we asked about this we were given several excuses as to why this didnt apply to our problem. The manager was to ring us on our return home, no call!!!
