Nice hotel, very good location

Posted Jul 9, 2014
Pros: Loved the location.
Cons: Back up plan for tv cable, heating system... is there anything they can do for guests to control directly from their rooms?
Location: Excellent, best location in Buenos Aires!
Overall it was a good experience, good price, excellent location, good services. The only 2 not so good comments I can have is that the hotel had a problem with the tv cable and we had no tv at all for almost 2 days in the middle of the world cup. Bad luck, but it happened. The other thing is the heating in the room which was too hot some times. Apart from those things all very good.

Boutique Hotel in Recoleta

Posted May 14, 2014
Pros: staff, location, price, rooms
Cons: I would like to see a better gym area
I travel to BA often and having been trying to find a good hotel, well located and well priced. This is the place, with restaurants, bars, cinemas and parks all within walking distance. The financial center is only a 10 minute taxi ride...(depending on traffic).

Centrally located hotel in a good part of BA

Posted Mar 23, 2014
Pros: Service, cleanliness, location and room appointments
The service was friendly, hotel well appointed and small enough to be personal. Location is in a good part of BA with walking or taxi access to the sights, good eating places and high end shopping.

Good hotel in very nice neighborhood

Posted Mar 2, 2014 on Hotels.com
The room was comfortable, but carpet should be replaced. Breakfast was good with fruits, eggs, meats, etc. Meals were reasonably priced and food was good, but menu options were limited. We would stay there again and would recommend the hotel to friends. Was a good 12 blocks to the metro station, but bus stop with multiple routes was 3 blocks away. High end shopping was close.

Pros: The hotel was comfortable; Olladellah was very warm.
Cons: The attitude of the front desk people. More managerial supervision of what's going on.
Location: The location was fine, walking distance to many things.
This was our third stay at the Melia over the last 5-6 years. In the past we had pleasant stays. This time was different. BTW, there is apparently new management since the last times we were there. First night we arrived around midnight, and the room's air conditioner did not work. They did move us to another room with functioning air conditioning. New Year's eve night at about 11:50 pm we went down to the bar at the -1 level for a New Year's drink. There were two employees at the bar, maybe 5 tables with people there, and musical entertainment. The 2 people at the bar told us they would not serve us, that the bar was closed. That was strange. The next morning, New Year's day, we woke and took our time and went down for breakfast at about 10:15 am. All other days breakfast was served from 6:00 - 11:00 am. "No, sorry," breakfast closed at 10:00 am we were told. No notice. They claim everyone had notices placed under their doors the day before. We didn't get a notice, nor did the couple who came in just after us. We can live without a New Year's Eve champagne, we can live without breakfast, but not when it is supposed to be included, especially when breakfast has already been paid for. Nobody seemed to care other than the very nice, warm Nigerian employee, Olladelleh.. He was the only one who appeared apologetic and brought us some wine. The front desk people told us we could have brunch, but it would cost us, and offered to bring us coffee. We were very unhappy.
