Enter the large glass conservatory and feel as though you’re in the heart of a tropical wonderland.
Watch the flurry of butterflies taking nectar from the flowers around the glasshouse. Check out the colorful koi in the ponds and spot the sleepy tree frogs on branches. The Emergence Gallery displays a range of chrysalides in the process of transforming from caterpillars into the butterflies flying around in the conservatory.
Bring your little ones to learn more about the process and the ecosystem of these incredible creatures in the 3-D theater. For something a little different, wander through the Rainforest Reptile Exhibit and see a dwarf caiman crocodile and a poison dart frog. Admire the bright red appearance of the tomato frog and gaze into the strange eyes of a leaf-tailed gecko.
Learn about the daily tasks involving pollen and nectar for the stars of the Honey Bee Extravaganza and spot some of the largest arthropods in the world. Try eating edible insect snacks, such as chocolate-covered ants and scorpion lollipops. The gift shop has a range of souvenirs, from jewelry to books.

The Butterfly Wonderland is part of a complex of attractions in the northeastern part of Scottsdale. From Phoenix, drive northeast for 22 miles (35 kilometers) to get here in less than 30 minutes.
