I stayed at I Vespri during my solo trip in Catania for a total of 3 nights (in 2 different rooms).
The first room was fine for the bedroom and everything - pretty cute and comfortable enough bedding. I was, however, annoyed with the shower. It was a handheld shower head that didn't fit in its hook, so you had to hold it the whole time. The shower curtain also didn't do much to keep the water in (especially considering I was trying to maneuver the stream so it wouldn't make a mess). The heater made some pretty awful noise when it turned itself on, but I had earplugs which drowned out the noise. There was also street noise (but again, earplugs).
The second room was a bit nicer, also cute, had a nice view, and had a better shower, though it also was a bit of a balancing act to get the water pressure right so it wasn't blasting out of the curtain.
The front desk people were super nice. They were friendly and able to provide great advice on visiting the city.
