Best thing about Catania
Conveniently located near the station, this Hotel is a quirky gem. A spacious, comfortable room on 2 floors and generous breakfast. Our favourite feature was the large outside terrace with sofas and tables where we spent the evening reading and enjoying a bottle of wine.

The staff patiently listened to il mio italiano, were consistently kind, courteous, helpful, gracious. The location was most useful: easy walk to old city, fish market, bus and train terminals, duomo, shopping, fine eating places. Decor was restful and fabulous: art and jazz! Room arrangement unique: a downstairs with table, a spiral staircase, an expansive bed loft. Also a large breakfast area with patio. A WONDERFUL place to stay. 10 stars.

Nice, friendly hotel
Very nice, clean friendly hotel. Warm welcome and spotlessly clean room. Good location near to restaurants and shops. Local area is a bit run down but don’t let that put you off.

A Second Pleasant Stay at Art & Jazz Hotel.
This was my second stay at Art & Jazz Hotel due to its close proximity to Catania Bus & Train station ( ten minute walk) and Airport (twenty minutes on Alibus). Reception and Restaurant staff were very efficient and friendly. The outside courtyard is most relaxing and adjacent to restaurant where the breakfast is very good. The WiFi is also good and everything works in the bedroom/bathroom. We checked in at around 11.00 pm without any difficulty. An all round happy experience.

The hotel decor is very unusual, very arty and appealing. Rooms are all mezzanine with the bedroom part upstairs and they are split over 2 floors of the hotel. The location is a little on the edge of the city but not too far to walk.

Good hotel in central Catania
Recent overnight stay at the Art & Jazz Hotel before heading off to Taormina the following day. Chosen for its proximity to Catania airport and bus station. The inbound flight was delayed which meant I did not arrive at the hotel until 23.00. Check in was fine and was shown to my room and where to go for breakfast the following morning. The room was clean with air conditioning and good facilities.

We had lovely stay at the art and jazz hotel. Don't be put off by the area, easy to get to the buses and trains, although buses bit confusing as several companies run service's and are located at different stops! But overall excellent stay will go back.

Liked this hotel. Unassuming frontage to this hotel down a side street. Inside totally different. Smart, quiet & clean with some nice touches around the place. Not many rooms in this hotel and didn't feel busy. Breakfast served until 11 too.

Convenient walk from the station although the station area was grotty especially at night. Warm welcome from very professional and welcoming staff. Great selection at buffet breakfast. Luggage kept for the day. Outdoor seating area. Would stay there again.

Oasis in the city.
We stayed for 6 nights and had chosen this hotel because of its proximity to the bus and train stations so we could take excursions during our stay. The staff were very welcoming and took time to introduce us to the building and the surrounding area. Our room was quite large and used a split level to enable a larger space. The breakfast was fine with quite a varied selection of options. The area in which the hotel is set is rather scuzzy and the main sights are about 2km away. But this is compensated by the friendly welcome from staff every time we returned. This hotel is a real oasis in the city.

Excellent hotel, well located for public transport
This is a great place. I used Catania as a base to explore Sicily. I chose this hotel as it is a 5 minute walk from the railway and bus stations so it made getting around easy. I had a spacious room opening onto the courtyard. It was unusual but I liked it. The whole hotel is attractive and in good condition, and is well looked after. There was an excellent breakfast buffet every morning. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, and spoke excellent English. It felt like I was coming home after long days travelling around the island. The area around the hotel is ok, but be careful which route you take walking west to the city centre. The roads to the north seem much nicer. I walked through some roads to the south which were rather unpleasant.

Excellent value
The hotel is about a 7 minute walk from the train station. It is down a road that is primarily auto repair and parts shops, and apartments, but the neighborhood is quite quiet and safe. There is an excellent hotel around the corner - Hosteria Panda (Italian and seafood). The main sights are walking distance (20-30 minutes away). Room was very nice and spacious, the breakfast was good, WIFI always worked, and the staff were always helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay again.

Fun Place to Stay
The hotel is not far from the train station. You can walk but the taxi was easier. It is not close to city center as we thought. Everyone was very helpful with directions. We made sure we were in the hotel by nightfall because we didn’t feel safe walking in this area. There are only car repair shops and residential buildings by the hotel and at night there is no street lighting causing very darks roads.

Hard to find but worth the effort
Our driver circled several tones trying to find entrance to street but it was worth the effort. The two level room was a bit quirky which I liked and breakfast very good. Easy to walk to bus or train and anywhere in old city. Worked well for us.

Location, Style, Charm
Location: we planned to travel around Eastern Sicily using public transport and the hotel's location was excellent. Catania is the transport hub for eastern Sicily and the hotel is an easy 5 minute walk from both bus terminals and the train station. Style: the hotel has a style all of its own. It is a mixture of pop art, cool and traditional Sicily. It's fun and happy to be what it is - which is an individual family run hotel with it's own character. Charm: the hotel staff are - without exception - charming, helpful and friendly. Staying here is like staying with distant relatives. Would I stay here again? You bet I would!

We wanted somewhere from which to reach Taormina, Siracusa, Etna by public transport with ease. Art & Jazz could hardly have been better positioned. The town centre was a bit further away, but within easy walking distance. Very attentive staff.

Good location. A 15 min walk from bus and train station.Easy access by bus or on foot to centre city area. Friendly, helpful staff with good fluency in English. A very good breakfast adjacent to a lovely courtyard area with seating where one could relax. Very good value overall and a pleasant experience.

This place was so great, excellent service, delicious breakfasts, spacious rooms and a lovely courtyard and quirky decor. The only issue is the area, a bit off the beaten track and past some rougher parts of town. You feel perfectly safe in the hotel though. If you're looking for convenience to the sights though, this isn't the place for you.

Lovely Hotel, close to bus and Rail stations
Lovely staff, very helpful and comfortable. Only issue was the construction work alongside the hotel that started work early in the morning creating loud noise. No need to an early alarm call! However the Hotel can not be faulted for this so top marks for our stay. would recommend to a friend.

A terrible hotel 2,0 at best. Staff friendly and breakfast pleasant. Recommended Parking off site was out of a US1960 movie on Naples or Sicily. Beware of attempted scam, demand a receipt. If they will not give you one leave with car. Whoever inspected this hotel for Expedia should be carefully supervised

Nice place in a convenient location.
Very clean hotel with lovely and helpful staff. We were able to get our airline tickets printed and they made us a hot drink on request one night. The rooms are immaculately clean and well presented. The walls are a little thin so you can hear the other guests sometimes but generally people were very respectful and quiet. Generous breakfast and close to bus stop for getting to the airport etc. would definitely return, thank you!

Good hotel close to Catania Centrale station
Chose this hotel for a stopover on the way to Syracuse due to evening arrival of BA flight from Gatwick. Got the Alibus airport shuttle to the train station which takes about 20 minutes, then 5 minutes walk to the hotel, so less than half an hour from the airport to the hotel. Checked in and then went to Hosteria del Panda for dinner. This is an excellent hosteria in the next street to the hotel (about 2 minutes walk) Hotel room was split level with bed on a mezzanine. Steps up to the bed were quite steep so don't choose this room if you have limited mobility, but we enjoyed the layout. Good continental style breakfast in the morning with a sun terrace and gazebos if you want to eat al fresco. We stayed indoors as it was cooler. Hotel is quirky with some nice murals and an arty theme as the name implies. Great staff on reception who answered all of our queries and recommended the hosteria where we had supper. Were able to leave our cases there until late afternoon, giving us time to walk around Catania during the day before taking the train on to Syracuse.

Easy walk to train, bus and metro station
Met with a warm and helpful reception which continued through a six night stay. Receptionist very helpful with details of the CircumEtnea Railway and printed off a timetable. She also made excellent dining recommendations. Took a real interest in how day trips had worked out. Chose the hotel because of its easy access to airport and railway station. Both worked well.

Convenient location for airport bus and transfer the next day to Taormina. Friendly staff, helpful with local directions. easy walk to centre but stick to the main roads as the hotel area is quite run down. It was noisy at night with plumbing. Breakfast was fine with fresh fruit and coffees which was a nice touch.

Modern pleasant and stylish hotel
The hotel is lovely charming and clean, well hidden in a busy part of Catania with small car garages all around. Getting there with a car is not easy, and parking is about 70 m and 15 stairs ... (!) away and costs extra 10 euros per day. We choose to stay there for the last night before going to the airport, but there might be easier options.

Stylish hotel with a friendly vibe.
Welcomed with a glass of fruit juice after a long journey. The staff were very friendly and informative. Breakfast had a choice of pastries, fruit, dairy products and cereals. Our room was clean and staying in a duplex room was a nice change from the norm. The location was excellent, with a small supermarket around the corner and just a 15 to 20 minute walk to Via Etnea, the main shopping street in Catania. If I do visit Catania again I would happily return to this lovely hotel.

This was our 30th anniversary and we were extremely pleased with this hotel. The room was beautiful. The hotel is only one year old so very clean and modern. Nice area to sit outside in the evening. Nice breakfast area with jazz music playing in the background. Food was good with fresh fruit daily. We were extremely impressed with the staff at the front desk especially Germaina who went out of her way daily to make suggestions as to where to go for dining, sight seeing, shopping etc. Antonella was also very helpful with suggestions. Both girls were extremely friendly and genuinely interested in how our day went. Thanks art and jazz for a wonderful stay

Well located hotel close all transport hubs
Great arts and jazz and movie theme to the hotel. Plus Banksy-like murals on the walls. Wonderfully helpful and engaged staff. Good breakfasts in a lovely dining room. 5 minutes walk to bus and train stations. 15 minutes walk into town centre.
