My lovely wife Sherry & myselfstayed here for 2 weeks, while visiting family and sight seeing. the hotel is walking distance to stores & restaurants. very close to center of downtown Cebu. We had a secondary wedding vows and beautifully set up dinner with the help of the Hotel. The staff where excellent in every way helping with our needs... When I travel I want the best, I am very pelite when I ask for things,,, and I ask for a lot !! Really the Hotel Staff where Great. We will always stay their when visiting Cebu. The food, breakfast, dinner, lunch--Great... Amenities also great. Very Quite VERY... away from the Nosiy streets. Grades relaxing. A 5 STAR from us and our friends....

The property was like a country hotel in the middle of the city. On two occasions when we had to call for help, hotel staff arrived very quickly and resolved the issue. Checkin and checkout was friendly and efficient.

The Montebello Hotel is one of the oldest Hotels in Cebu me and my wife were newly married and on our Honeymoon.. The Hotel is being preserved well But shows many repairs to the rooms over the years. Dinning by the Olympic size pool creates a wonderful atmosphere and compliments the surrounding gardens. the staff is very helpful when asked. you will enjoy the ambiance when you stay. improvements to the property needed is maintaining and cleaning the mold in the bathroom which was apparent in the shower and commode area. Upon arrival we booked a room 6 months prior with a queen size bed and was informed that they cannot provide the queen size bed The property claimed that they do not guarantee the queen size bed booked. We informed the property that payment for a queen size room was prepaid and needs to be provided. The next day we were moved to the room with a queen size bed. The start of the honeymoon was a little disappointing for us.

We were given a room in the old wing and was adviced there is a constructions going on at a certain time frame....the night rolled on kinda smoothly, however, the said noise from the construction started an hour ahead! We complained about three times and still the noise was horrible...we were eventually transferred to the new wing suite despite the few hours left before we check out. We were also given an extra hour to stay. Well, so far so good...but i would definitely prefer the new wing than the old, kinda musty one.

The rooms here range from just-okay to great, and priced accordingly, so you can choose what you like ..or need. The staff here are great, doesn't matter what position they're in, they're all very friendly and helpful. I've been staying here over the past 15 years when visiting Cebu and Montebello Villa is no longer a secret, so check them out and book early ..it does get sold out.

Pleasant stay at Montebello
I stayed at this hotel for two nights in mid-September 2019. This is an older property (opened in 1972!) but it is very charming and has beautiful grounds. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. My room was fairly comfortable, although the mattress was a hard foam -- definitely not a Western 5-star hotel mattress. I like harder beds so it was fine. If you don't, you might be unhappy. Breakfast was included and is a nice buffet with a good combination of Eastern and Western choices. I would say my biggest complaint was the mattress and lack of outlets in my room to charge my devices. There was only one outlet that was readily accessible, and then another behind the bed that you could access if you worked at it (move the bed, plug in device, move bed back). The bathroom was also quite small. If you're bigger than about 6 feet or 200 lbs you will feel cramped. Another oddity was the deposit on check-in; it was 3000 PHP and you can pay it with a credit card but the front desk told me it takes up to 2 weeks to refund it and suggested that I use cash instead. It was only $60 USD but I didn't like the idea of the charge lingering on my card for 2 weeks so I chose the cash option. They gave me a hand-written receipt, and when I checked out gave me back the cash. A little bit odd, but fine. Overall, despite this nit picking, I was happy with the experience. I would come back to Montebello.

Gate needs a reflector
The gate by the guardhouse should not have a black paint. Late nights the gate is halfway close and you can’t see the gate when your driving. I am not surprise when accidents will happen anytime. I already told the front desk 2X. I hope someone from the management will read this post.

Great hotel with an oasis type feel in the middle of busy Cebu! Only problem is the service in the restro’s. The staff have no concept of anticipating your needs. You have to ask or call someone to your table every time you need service. But aside from that, it’s really nice.

Every staff is friendly specially the reception and pool attendants, except for the security officer in the entrance, she's a bit rude. Also, there are lots of mosquitoes inside the room(room is gardenside). Hence, my kids didn't have comfortable sleep.

The Montebello Villa property is an oasis in the desert of commotion in Cebu City. For this ex Angelino -27 years in Santa Monica - the Gardens and grounds equal or exceed the ambiance of the Bel Air Hotel in Stone Canyon. Public areas are spotless and the staff are friendly, overly accommodating, and are required to be a well educated for employment. The matriarch owner is in her early 80s and makes daily rounds of the gardens and knows her employees. Very good food - always opt for the breakfast buffet with the room - the best I’ve had anywhere. Great pools - The hotel is the bomb.

I’m disappointed with the room I was given with I though I book from Expedia a deluxe room to my surprise it was old standard frustrating gloomy room no character except very depressing with two single beds 🛌 which causes my husband had a fall from bed so I have to spend more money to upgrade our room for it was very much disappointing I’ve been in this hotel too many times but this time was disappointing room but what I like are this hard working staffs from cleaners , to bell boys , and all staffs at the restaurant were amazing as well as Cafe Terraza staff were fabulous that’s all

Nice room with big bed, but there was noisy work going on during the day. At 1 pm I was at checkin and was told that the room would be ready at 2 pm, but it was nearly 3 pm until the room was ready.

Beautiful grounds; lovely flowers and trees. Three beautiful pools. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our room, 2207, was clean and quiet but a little dated. There was no in-room safe.

This is probably the best hotel I have ever stayed in and I make a point of finding a way of staying there for a few days every time I visit the Philippines. Beautiful and comfortable rooms, two fantastic pools, incredible breakfast choice and you don't get ripped off when buying food or drinks. I absolutely love the place and it really is incredibly hard to remember that you are in the centre of the city. Very quiet and relaxing, absolutely no need to venture out of the place - just relax and enjoy.
