"I travelled with a friend and we absolutely loved Allogio al San Girolamo. Filippo is an excellent host, the breakfast was amazing, and the place is idyllic. We even got to see a show of fireflies at night, which confirmed this is such a quiet and pollution-free space. Will go again! "

Located only about 20 minutes away through winding mountain roads - this is a 1000 year old castle that a wonderfully friendly couple had bought and renovated into a handful of guest rooms. "Location was its best feature (across the street from the train station). You have to call beforehand to make an appointment to check-in since there is no front desk. Service was very chaotic (they misunderstood how many people were staying in the room, they didn't know we had already paid for the room, they gave us the key to the wrong room's safe, etc.) but they made up for it by being friendly and cheerful unlike many other hotels in northern Italy where the staff can be frosty and awkward....

"Wonderful hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the spa was amazing. Staying on the first floor you heard a bit of noise from the breakfast bunch but overall it was very quiet and a great place to stay, near the beach and good bars and restaurants. Definitely come back here."
